The Mole #??IS IT TRUE we hear that the President of Evansville City Council, Connie Robinson is being encouraged by other City Council members to keep serving in this position for 2013? …that the CCO has taken City Council President and 4th Ward City Councilwomen to task throughout the year when we felt she deserved it? …we understand that City Councilwomen Robinson has had an extremely challenging year as city council president ? …Mrs. Robinson had to deal with personality conflicts, budget issues and the obvious short comings of bookkeeping problems in nearly all department of city government in 2012? … the City County Observer expect that members of city council will re-elect Connie Robinson as the president of the council for 2013? …we want to stress that we shall continue to take her to task if we feel she is wrong in supporting something against “Good Public Policy”? …if Connie Robinson is re-elected city council president for 2013 we wish her well?
IS IT TRUE we hear that the President of Vanderburgh County Commission, Marsha Abell shall continue to serve as President in 2013? …we hope that County Commissioner, Steve Melcher would surprise us by supporting Commissioner Joe Kiefer as the next President of the County Commission for 2013? …we feel it’s time for new leadership on the County Commission?
IS IT TRUE that the Vanderburgh County Council leadership will continue to be the political leap frog of local politics? …we hear that the Vanderburgh County Council leadership shall continue to be Jim Raben and Tom Shelter, Jr.? …we hope County Council membership will consider electing new leadership for 2013?

Connie Robinson needs a star in her crown for putting up with Missy Mosby junk!
Connie has really done an excellent job bringing council members together.
Recent example is finding someone to serve as new city attorney that all members agree on. She did a masterful job by bringing Scott Danks on board to serve in that position.
Thanks to Connie Robinson for doing a creditable job as Prersident of Evansville City Council.
Hope she agrees to serve another year as president.
We don’t need that trouble maker Missy Mosby to be the next president of city council.
A friend of mine has personally talked with 5 city council members about Mrs. Robinson.
They say that she is intelligent, open, fair, hard working, likeable and honest.
After hearing that, I hope she is re-elected as council president.

Exactly what is Mz. Mosby’s “leadership” role. She and the other eight members of city council were elected as representatives of the people. At present, the only leadership roles on city council are its self-elected officers.
Just because someone has been elected by the “great unwashed” does not make him/her a leader.

How often did Connie show up for meetings before she was president?
How does Ms Robinson get a free pass on the budgetgate fiasco? As President of the Council, does she not bear any leadership responsibility for seeing to the legality, and fiscal correctness, of it’s passage? I understand she has a finance committee, but there are a few basic questions a leader should ask, like ” how much money do we have and how much are we proposing to spend”.
Also, she does get hung up on any issue even remotely related to race. If you watched last week as Dr Johnson tried to get a variance to conduct a part-time medical practice in his home, once she heard that the subdivision covenance written in 1949 prohibited blacks from owning property in that area, she was determined someone in that room was going to be held accountable. She just couldn’t let it go.
