Steven Tyler’s Former Girl Friend to Speak at Annual Life Chain
On Sunday afternoon, October 7, Right to Life of Southwest Indiana will host the annual Life Chain. Thousands of people who support life will occupy sidewalks in over 1,400 U.S. and Canadian cities, as defenders of human life seek God’s divine help to end the legalized killing of unborn fellow citizens.
Locally, pro-life supporters will line Green River Road sidewalks between the Lloyd Expressway and Lincoln Avenue. The Life Chain supporters will gather at Brinker’s Jewelers parking lot at the corner of Green River and the Lloyd Expressway for a rally and to pick up signs. Free signs will be distributed beginning at 12:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
Julia, Holcomb, the ex-girlfriend of Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and formerly of American Idol will be the special guest speaker. When Julia Holcomb was 16 years old she became the legal ward of Steven Tyler, lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith and former American Idol judge. At age 17, when she was over 5 months pregnant with Tyler’s first child, she barely survived a fire that burned their apartment. While still in the hospital recovering from smoke inhalation, she was coerced into a horrific saline abortion. She is the author of the memoir The Light of the World- the Steven Tyler and Julia Holcomb Story, published by LifeSiteNews and credits her Faith in Jesus Christ as the life line that helped her rebuild her life after her abortion trauma.
She writes, “I pray that all those who have had abortions or have participated in any way in an abortion procedure may find in my story, not judgment or condemnation, but a renewed hope in God’s steadfast love, forgiveness and peace. Marriage and the family are the building blocks of all virtuous societies. I pray that our nation may find its way back to God’s plan by respecting the life of unborn children and strengthening the sanctity of marriage.â€
Today Julia is happily married to her husband of 30 years and together they have 7 children. Julia is also an accomplished artist, having studied painting at the University of Houston and the Toronto Academy of Realist Art. She specializes in iconography, portraiture and landscape realism.
According to Mary Ellen Van Dyke, Executive Director of Right to Life of Southwest Indiana, “A large crowd is expected to stand together respectfully and prayerfully for the sanctity of life. This year with all the attacks against the sanctity of human life, conscience and religious freedom and the federal funding for abortions in Obamacare, many more are expected. Supporters of Life will hold signs that say, ‘Abortion is not Healthcare’, ‘Stop Abortion Now’, ‘Abortion Kills Children’, and ‘Adoption is a Loving Alternative’. All signs include prayers to be recited with the intention to end abortionâ€. The Life Chain follows a strict Code of Conduct, is peaceful, and urges all family members, young and old, to attend.
Right to Life of Southwest Indiana with 50,000 supporters, protects all life through education, services, and advocacy so that in both law and practice all human life is protected.
