The Old Courthouse Foundation will cap off National Preservation Month with “Lunch on the Lawn†Friday, May 26th from 10:00 am-2:00 pm at the Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse located at 201 NW Fourth Street to celebrate the history of Vanderburgh County’s historic civic buildings.
This free, family-friendly event will include live music on the lawn complements of Wired Coffee House and Music Venue, Yoga on the lawn at noon, and food for purchase from local food trucks including Chef Bruce Li, Kona Ice, Rockin’ Taco, Jayson Munoz Caters, Fresh. By Genes and Sassy Sweet Confections. The food trucks will be on the Fourth Street side of the Old Courthouse.
The Old Courthouse, Coliseum and the Old Jail will be open to the public and self-guided tours are encouraged. Old Courthouse Foundation docents Dennis Au, Larry Bristow and Jane Davies will be available for questions throughout the day.
In addition, two guided tours are scheduled for Friday. A walking tour of the exteriors of the three buildings will begin at 10:30 am at the Fourth Street entrance of the Old Courthouse. An interior tour of the Old Courthouse will start at 12:30 pm in the rotunda.
The Old Courthouse Foundation is a non- profit organization whose mission is to support the preservation of the Old Courthouse and create educational programs to engage the community in the preservation effort.
