UE Softball wraps up trip to Oklahoma

Aces head to Lexington, Ky. on Friday

STILLWATER, Okla. – After falling behind by a 1-0 score, Oklahoma State rallied for 21 runs as they defeated the University of Evansville softball team, 21-2, on Tuesday in Stillwater.

The Purple Aces were held to two runs on four hits while the Cowgirls finished 21 runs on 13 hits.  Morgan Florey made the start for UE, giving up seven earned runs in 1 2/3 innings of work.  Shea Coats went the distance in the circle for OSU, tossing five innings while striking out eight batters.

Evansville was the first team to get on the board as they scored a run in the second inning.  A fielder’s choice by Susan Norris scored Hayli Scott to give UE the lead.

In the bottom of the second, Oklahoma State scored seven times to gain control of the game.  Randee O’Donnell knocked the first two runs in with a triple before Kristin Reasnor capped it off with a grand slam.  The Cowgirls put the contest out of reach with three runs in the third and 11 in the fourth.

Olivia Cheatham hit a solo shot in the fifth to complete the scoring as OSU took the win.

This weekend, the Aces head to their final non-conference tournament of the season in Lexington, Ky.  Evansville will take on the University of Kentucky, Dayton, Michigan, Kent State and Drexel in the event, which runs from Friday through Sunday.
