Arrest Made after Allegations of Child Molestation at North Side Residence

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on multiple felony charges following an investigation into allegations of child molesting.  Mr. Cory James Gibbs was arrested on one count of Child Molesting and five counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor.
Detectives with Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation at Holly’s House where a forensic interview was conducted with the fifteen year-old victim. The victim gave a statement alleging that on multiple occasions Mr. Gibbs provided alcohol to the victim and committed acts of sexual abuse. The incidents all occurred at Gibbs’ north side residence.

Sheriff’s detectives interviewed Mr. Gibbs at the Command Post.  Mr. Gibbs gave a statement in which he admitted to committing the acts alleged. Mr. Gibbs was arrested and transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail. He will be held without bond pending a court appearance.

Presumption of Innocence Notice: The fact that a person has been arrested or charged with a crime is merely an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
