Family Fun Day at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden

Evansville, IN – Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden is pleased to present Family Fun Day, sponsored by Kyle Rhone State Farm, tomorrow, Saturday, August 4 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Enjoy a variety of games and activities for the entire family including zoo keeper talks, magic shows, appearances by the Evansville Otters & Evansville Icemen, inflatable bounces, games, clowns, crafts, and much more, all free with paid Zoo admission or Zoo membership. Ice enrichment activities will also take place during the event as zoo keepers provide virtually every animal in the Zoo a cool treat to enjoy. All treats will be some form of ice, including fruit popsicles, veggie popsicles, and blood popsicles (for the carnivores). Mesker Park Zoo’s American Association of Zoo Keepers will also be selling snow cones to keep the visitors cool.
This year, a cool new activity for visitors has been planned. Gather a team of four and win a chance to participate in the 1st Annual Ice Cream Eating Contest! Sign up your team in the Zoo’s Entry Plaza between 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. A drawing will be held to select the 10 participating teams in this 1:00 p.m. contest. Each team will work together to finish a sand pail full of ice cream faster than their competition. The winning team will receive a free one Year Family Zoo Membership and a trophy. The second place team will receive eight free Zoo admission tickets and a trophy.
Evansville’s Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden is open 365 days a year from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (must leave grounds by 5 p.m.). Adult admission is $8.50 and children ages 3-12 are $7.50. Children under 3 are free. In recognition of their support, Vanderburgh County residents receive $1 discount. Group discounts and yearly memberships are also available.
