IS IT TRUE we are hearing plans are in the making to merge the offices of County Council and County Commissioners into the same area? Â …we expect County Commissioner Musgrave will try to nix these plans because she campaigned against the spending of our tax dollars on expensive and unwarranted capital projects?
IS IT TRUE its obvious the City/County jointly funded web site layout and design is controlled by the City? IS IT TRUE we hear the newly elected Vanderburgh County Clerk will appoint a well known person as her Deputy Clerk? Â …we wonder if this person could be someone she worked with in the past? Â …we also wonder if the new Deputy County Clerk has ever served in an elected office position?

IS IT TRUE that the grades for the Indiana Public Schools are out and only two of the EVSC schools received a grade of A?…both of these high performing schools (Scott and Oak Hill) are located on the more affluent north side?…there were also 15 schools that got a B?…four EVSC schools graded out at the F level and that these four F schools are on the south and southeast sides?…two of those have exalted names that include the word Academy?…the other two F schools are long term laggards Caze and McGary?…more EVSC schools were at C level or below than were rated as an A or B?
And as everyone knows the answer is they need more money.
Nope. They will,say that but they a full of crap. They spend $11,000 per pupil per year now. Throwing more money at a failing system won’t keep it from failing.
The soft bigotry of low expectations, a term coined by Michael John Gerson, comes to mind. If a school can build a tradition of consistently fielding winning sports teams, as several in Evansville do, then maybe we need to put the same “coaches” in charge of academic execution.
