The University of Southern Indiana men’s tennis team was in West Lafayette, Indiana, over the weekend, where they participated in the Purdue Invitational.
Freshman Denis Davydov (Chorvatsky Grob, Slovakia) advanced to the semifinals in Flight D, winning his first two matches before falling in the semis in three sets 4-6, 7-5, 2-6.
Also in Flight D, junior Samuel Kiladejo (London, England) won his first match before being defeated in three sets in the quarterfinals. He then rebounded to win his consolation match 7-6(1), 6-2.
In doubles Flight B, Kiladejo and Davydov won their first round match 6-4, but came up short in the quarterfinals 3-6. Doubles Flight A saw the pair of senior Aaron Barris (Marietta, Georgia) and sophomore James Hardiman (Backwell Bristol, United Kingdom) bounce back after losing their first two matches to win their consolation match 6-1.
With the fall schedule concluded, the Screaming Eagles will not return to the court until March 25, when they travel to the University of Illinois Springfield for a GLVC matchup.
