EVSC to Host iEngineering Summer Camp

Thirty middle-school aged students interested in a career in an engineering-related field will get a head start next week as they participate in the EVSC’s second iEngineering Summer Camp. The two-week camp is for students in seventh and eighth grades in Evansville and the surrounding area and will focus on topics related to engineering, manufacturing and architecture.

Students enrolled in the camp will learn about: soldering, basic electrical circuits, Vex robots, CNC machining, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, architectural fundamentals, electro-magnetic motors and more.

Highlights of the two-week camp will include:

· Monday, June 4, 9:30 a.m. – Electrical theory and soldering

· Tuesday, June 12, 8:55 a.m. – Electric motor build-out

· Thursday, June 14, 8:15 a.m. – Motoman Robot/Castings lab

· Various dates and times – Vex Robots (see attached agenda for more information.)
