The Great Lakes Valley Conference coaches voted three University of Southern Indiana Men’s Tennis players to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference Tennis Team. Senior Jack Joyce(Bournemouth, England), sophomore Samuel Kiladejo (London, England), and freshman James Hardiman (Blackwell Bristol, United Kingdom) were honored for their play during the 2015-16 season at Thursday night’s GLVC Tennis Awards Banquet. Joyce is earning All-Conference honors for the third time in his four-year career at USI after posting a 17-5 mark in singles play and a 16-6 record in doubles. The 2013 GLVC Freshman of the Year’s senior campaign was highlighted by an 11-match singles win streak and an 11-match doubles win streak over the same duration. Both streaks were snapped in the regular season finale. With 74 career singles wins (fifth in USI history) and 79 career doubles wins (tied for fifth in USI History), Joyce is currently third for combined career wins in the USI record book.
Kiladejo is the 15th USI men’s tennis player to earn multiple All-GLVC awards after receiving the same honor as a freshman after the 2014-15 season. The native of London, England, is currently ranked as the #14 singles player in the Midwest Region with a record of 14-9. In doubles play, Kiladejo has partnered with junior Paul Forichon (Nimes, France) to earn a number-six ranking in the Midwest Region with a 10-4 mark together. For the season, the sophomore is 15-7 with most matches coming at number-one doubles.
The fourth Eagle freshman to receive the honor since 2010, Hardiman finished the year with an undefeated, 12-0, combined record in conference matches. The freshman, currently, is in the middle of a 10-match singles win streak, while he has won his past 13 doubles matches, teaming with junior Aaron Barris (Marietta, Georgia). During the final week of the regular season, Hardiman had four wins, highlighted by two singles wins over ranked region opponents, to win the final GLVC Player of the Week Award of the 2015-16 season.
