IS IT TRUE for the last several years the City of Evansville officials have claimed that the not-or-profit Evansville Brownfields Corp isn’t an entity of the City?   …the.not-for profit Evansville Brownsfields Corp staff member is paid by the City?  …her.office and their organization records are located and maintained in the DMD offices located in the Civic Center? …all the Evansville Brownfields Corp land bank title expenses and fees are paid by the City?  …income that supports the overall operations comes from grants and sale of properties given to them by the City/County taxpayers?  …after reading the information we just posted concerning the Evansville Brownfields Corp we wonder if you think that EBC meetings should be closed to the public?

IS IT TRUE we are extremely puzzled about why Vectren Corp would allow anyone from their organization to serve on the board of a City/County taxpayer funded organization that holds their meetings in private?  …over the last several years Vectren Corp has been doing a masterful job in improving their public image?  … they shouldn’t allow an employee from their organization to serve on a taxpayer funded board that conducts their business in private? …we also feel that Vectren Corp should not allow Evansville Brownfield Corp to use their conference room for secret closed door meetings? …we are watching with interest to see if the new Vectren way of doing business is that they support open transparency in government?

IS IT TRUE we also feel that 4th Ward City Councilwoman, Connie Robinson, should immediately resign from serving on the taxpayer funded Evansville Brownfields Corp board because they conduct the people’s business behind closed doors? …we feel that no elected official should serve on a board that is supported by taxpayers dollars that holds their meetings behind close doors?

IS IT TRUE last year GOP Party Chairman Wayne Parke  alleged that Cheryl Musgrave wasn’t a Republican? …earlier this year Mr. Parke, with the support of Mayor Winnecke, hand picked a political unknown to run in the Republican primary against political power house Cheryl Musgrave? …the 32 year-old candidate for County Commissioner Alex Schmitt voted in the last Democratic Party Primary election and Parks had to give him special permission to run for this seat?
 
IS IT TRUE we were surprised that Alex Schmitt had the political gall to call Mrs Musgrave an agitator just because she challenges the actions of the political machine?  …all we can say to Mrs. Musgrave is “Give Them Hell” girl?

IS IT TRUE we hear that City Council President Missy Mosby is quietly telling people that she is supporting Governor Pence for re-election? …we thought she was a Democrat?

IS IT TRUE we were informed by  a committee member of a person running for public office that they shall not be advertising in the City County Observer?  …the reason they decided to do this is because we posted something about their candidate that they didn’t like?  …just because a candidate advertises in the CCO doesn’t mean were not going to take them to task when they do something wrong?  …in fact we are glad that they took their advertising dollars elsewhere?

    Thank you Editor and the City County Observer for asking for ACCOUNTABILITY from ALL of the people (including friends) involved in the fields of activity re: the “Evansville Land Bank”…and the…”Evansville Brownfields Corporation.”

    Democratic City Councilwoman Connie Robinson has been…and is….involved in the DMD’s land bank/EBC activities during BOTH terms of Mayor Winnecke’s administration. Ms. Robinson is a veteran political player and has been involved in EBC activities since Day One. She KNOWS the ANSWERS to ALL of the questions the CCO feels stonewalled on, the ANSWERS to ALL of the questions CCO READERS feel stonewalled on….

    ….and, let’s be clear, ALL OF THE QUESTIONS Laura K. Blackburn (ELKAYBEE)……..PRETENDS…..to be furiously mad about when she writes her whining dribble about being stonewalled on the closed-door shenanigans of the Evansville City Council and the Evansville DMD and the Land Bank activities of the Evansville Brownfields Corp.

    I have been beating this horse about how ELKAYBEE will not hold her friend Democrat Councilwoman Connie Robinson, and EBC Executive Board Member Connie Robinson (who it is clear KNOWS the answers Elkaybee demands)……Elkaybee will not hold Connie Robinson ACCOUNTABLE………..WHY? – because they are friends – that’s why……..”because they are friends”! (That’s not an exact quote, but damn close.)

    I am glad to see the City County Observer is not afraid to ask for Connie Robinson to be accountable.
    Thank you Editor. Thank you for showing LEADERSHIP.

    (Last…we all know……ALL OF US…..that ELKAYBEE lacks the integrity and authenticity to ask her City Official friends to be similarly accountable. Why she writes a WORD of copy for the CCO is beyond my imagining…when such a double standard is so prominent in every fabric of Elkaybee’s character.)

  3. Thanks for the rant about your obsessive hate for Connie Robinson and my alleged lack of integrity. Now, I’m wondering what you think of a Republican County Chairman and a Mayor who hand pick someone who has only voted in one Primary, a Democratic one, to run against a highly-thought-of stalwart of your party? That is what has been done in the case of Alex Schmitt v. Cheryl Musgrave. You are so incensed about what happened in my party, how will you ever get past what Wayne Park is doing to yours?

        • I completely agree with you about how anybody who is corrupt should “go down.” What you seem to have trouble wrapping your head around is that while I don’t demand that my friends always agree with me, especially when it comes to politics, I do have to trust and respect them. That is the case in my friendship with Connie Robinson. I would not defend her or anyone else that I believed was guilty of any wrong doing.
          Btw, I think you accidentally told the truth when you said you “could care less about political affiliation.” I believe you care a great deal about political affiliation. Maybe you even owe your income to it.

  4. Connie Robinson and LKB don’t need anybody to defend them. They both appear to be perfectly capable of doing so. There certainly is room for more editorial voices in this community, but until this one polices its posters and requires that the discussion center on issues and information instead of personal attacks in capital letters, many will continue to disregard the content as simply ravings from the tin foil hat sect. Also, these veiled references to investigations are getting tiresome. Give some facts from a credible source or say nothing. And stop writing about yourself, your advertisers, the phone calls you get and what time of day the newspaper posts a story. It’s all a waste of time. Is it true that’s how I feel? Yes, it is.

    • I agree that there are some really nasty posters here, but it seems there are some pretty mean-spirited people everywhere. You are right about people managing side-tracking the point of other’s posts. One point I intended to make is that I don’t agree with CCO about calling on Connie to resign from Brownfields” board. It is required that a City Council member have a seat on that board, and I trust her to represent the public interest far. far more than anyone else.

      And your point is…”Well, yes….this failure from Connie Robinson does stink. But who else we gonna get?”

      I think it is clear the CCO has a more informed relationship with Cheryl….that ELKAYBEE doesn’t have.
      Thus, the call today for the transparency.
      Don’t blame her.
