IS IT TRUE that one of our most dedicated poster ClassyEvansvillePolitic sent us this gem that challenges the appointment of Brandon Scott by Evansville City Council to the Police Merit Commission? …below are two links provided to us by CCO poster ClassyEvansvillePolitic for your review and discussion?
IS IT TRUE after reading the link on Indiana State Laws posted below pertaining to “Home Rule” it suggest that Brandon Scott should have lived in Evansville/Vanderburgh County for 3 years in order that he would be eligible to serve on the Evansville Police Merit Commission?
IS IT TRUE attached  below is the link of  a TEN ADAMS of a news release that states that Brandon Scott accepted a job appointment with Ten Adams sometime around October 13, 2013?  …we wonder when Mr. Scott was hired by Ten Adams did he move from another city to accept this position in Evansville a month or two before before October 13, 2013?
IS IT TRUE we wonder if State Law supersesdes a local City Ordinance? Â …if it does and Mr. Scott move from another city to accept a job with Ten Adams sometime before October 13, 2013, Â it looks like his appointment to the Evansville Police Merit Commission is in jeopardy?
IS IT TRUE posted below is ClassyEvansvillePolitic reply to CCO poster JoeBiden.
Joe
See the minor detective work I did a few minutes ago.
Per the 10 Adams website, BRANDON SCOTT came to 10 Adams October 13, 2013.

My supposition is that if the State law Bandana provided is accurate, then he cannot comply with the three year part of it IMHO
The glitch that many point out is that darn “Home Rule†crap that runs everyone ragged all the time.  Sometimes you can, sometimes you cannot, it is maddening.
If you are bored or a law nut like me, look at pages 7 and 8 on the attached PDF

IS IT TRUE we hear the use of Federal TARP funds earmarked for ridding of “Blighted Homes” is the subject of a Congressional Oversight Committee hearing in Washington, DC?
IS IT TRUE we hope that Evansville or Indiana won’t be held up as the example of how States or Cities shouldn’t use Federal TARP money at tomorrows Congressional hearing?  …a Federal TARP Funds hearing is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday,  January 8, at the Congressional Oversight Committee in Washington, DC.?  …we urge you to turn your Cable Channel on C Span at 9:00 A M tomorrow morning to view this hearing concerning the alleged misuse of Federal TARP money?
IS IT TRUE we urge ‘Blight Fighter” George Lumley,  Evansville DMD Director Kelly Course and his staff,  board members of the Evansville Brownfield Corp to tune in on tomorrows Congressional Oversight Committee hearing?
IS IT TRUE that Evansville City Council on Monday is presenting and voting on a resolution authorizing the legal action to be withdrawed from the pending legal Appeal Of the City of Evansville Residency Ordinance? …we hear Council leadership has cut a back room political deal and will attempt to suspend the rules to pass this ordinance on first reading? Â …we hope that City Council will allow public input before they vote on this resolution?
Dear Editors
Thank you, but I share this with a number of others on the Is It True page that dug into this stuff as well. They provided the background work that I built on. Bandana did some fantastic research that deserves an accolade, but also to you editors for first posing this with the link to the City Code that showed the “resident voter” aspect.
I’m just glad this is being not only reported, but that it bears looking into.
Maybe if the person who nominated Mr. Scott would have used some due diligence in the rush to no longer use an icon in the community this could have been avoided. Or if the City Council and City staff took the time to not only make sure the candidates for boards and commissions are vetted, but they also knew the damn requirements for people who are APPOINTED to a board or commission. If a board or commission has a SPECIFIC statue (local, state, federal) that governs it, then use that as the point you begin.
Novel concept, right?
Well, IMHO
The only thing I have ever heard of Weaver being diligent about is his “love life” or whatever you want to call it.
Tomcats have that same diligence for the same purpose.
Vetting is not a strong skill of local government. It doesn’t matter if it is Earthcare, space age water meters, or the eligibility of this man to accept an appointment, Evansville just doesn’t vet anything well. Great catch Classy.
I don’t give a damn when he moved here, I just wouldn’t want somebody in a position like that who doesn’t give a rat’s ass enough to vote. Being a drinking buddy of Weaver doesn’t mean you give a shit about having a civilized society. This is a guy they knew they could control, and possible even cover things up for if the nose candy stories are true. And you know he’d go onto the infamous EPD DUI immunity list, which would help him out after nights on the town with Messy and Weaver and associated toadies.
Bob . . you are probably on point with your assessment. Sources indicate that the Scott dude met with the FOP twice before the CC meeting. Evidently, they must have vetted the dude to their standards, i.e. every FOP members is perfect . . now Mr. Scott please memorize that statement.
I think it is fair to say that the current City Council is lacking in professional expertise that is dedicated to good public policy. The remaining expertise is aimed clearly at raising one’s own political worth by doing the Mayor’s bidding. This is what the voters wanted and this is what they got. Good luck with that.
Your right about that places city council Weavers a damned drunk and drug addicted piece of crap and Mosby is a idiot. That woman ( I:E bag) is as stupid as a paper bag of sawdust.
Mr. V, I admire your courage in making libelous statements! Keep up the good work!

Dear Taxpayer,
Just hold on to your wallets. With Weaver the Wessel and dizzy blonde at the helm be assured that the rubber stamps have been handed out. Of course, look at the make up. Brinkmeyer, a/k/a Drinkmeyer. During the last CC meeting Drinkmeyer was constantly conferring with the Wessel while the Wessel rock back and forward in his chair. What a losser!!!!

This was the link to the hearing alleged to possibly include Evansville. It appears this hearing is no longer scheduled. Am I looking in the wrong place?
I just discovered that I was not recording what I thought I was. It may appear later, but for now, I don’t see anything that is related happening now.
The hearing was “postponed” but not rescheduled???? The reason: “possible scheduling conflict”. Has this been swept under the rug, first at the local level, next at the state level, and now by the feds???
I hate to interrupt the 4 day fixation the CCO has had with the appointment of a single person to a single board, but anybody have anything to say about the region losing 600 of the best paying jobs around due to the shutdown of ALCOA? Anybody? Maybe everybody could redirect a few of their slobbering tears for the richest, most politically connected rev’rund around toward those poor bastards and their families who just got unceremoniously slammed from the middle class into the wage-basement.
You can write a thank you note to conservatives for that one.
Well, progressives will blame The Evil Capitalists and conservatives will blame The Evil Unions. I’m sure there is plenty of ‘blame’ to go around. The bottom line is these were likely among the best jobs available for guys and gals around here who did not attend college but were capable and willing to work hard. Much like the jobs at Whirlpool, etc. Huge blow to the ability of average residents to make a decent living in this area.
Delta. I really enjoy your post. You spice things up. I very much in agreement with you on this issue. What the possibility of your doing a letter to the cco editor? If you agree please send your letter to. Citycountyobserver@live.com. Thanks. Editor
Edtor, I’m happy to opine, but am confused on the topic. Should I address the ridiculous amount of virtual ink being spilled on the Police Merit Commission change of scenery, or about how the average working stiff is being left behind while the wingnuts on both sides scream blame at each other…?
Delta. Write about the Alcoa situation. Thanks. Editor
Wait a minute . . Winnie said that he created 1,000 jobs so we now have a net gain of 400? Of course those 1,000 were basically in the Service industries. A friend of mine said he got two of those jobs
I see in the Friday afternoon news-dump that the local AIG office seems to have closed and sneaked away under cover of darkness. They left a note on the door saying the local office was among several nationally that had been closed. Go figure.
Delta, I love what this guy says about what he calls “protected markets.” Defense, complex parts, medical devices, and firearms.

As I said earlier, I am taking a big hit in ALCOA closing, but you are somewhat right in that we are not replacing these jobs. However there is more movement than one sees and I believe we will see more stability by growing smaller businesses rather than these behemoths that become zombie buildings.
Personally, I think ALCOA has made a mistake by not waiting out the market. People will still need aluminum to make the products they buy. Markets recover unless something new renders the product obsolete in the market. However, when the market recovers, someone will smelt aluminum to sell it.
We have a lot of talent in this area, but we are not growing new talent. As far as I know in vanderburgh county we have one shop class teaching machine shop. The closest place is VU. We can not change our future by arena’s, Icemen, Earthcare, or tearing down houses. Nor can we go back to the future and compete with offshore producers that can and will produce cheaper; But we don’t need protectionism either. Only private sector truly creates jobs.
Actually you can thank the Governor of New York. And he’s a Democrat. He arranged an $80,000,000 “gift” to Alcoa to keep a New York Alco smelter running.
Alcoa, not Alco.
Oh brother… It was a conservative conspiracy for aluminum to drop 30%? About third of my income and 25 years of producing key components to Alcoa’s production just evaporated, but I am not going to sit here blaming China, CEOs Obama, or unions, although all perhaps hold some of the blame. It’s to simplistic and unproductive. I will find a way to add value to another company and replace my loss with something better. It’s called life English. You can become bitter and blame whomever, or you adjust and deal with it.
The ChiComms are are taking over:

Wonder if Winnie has factored the possible COIT effect on his phony budget for 2016.
I believe Alcoa is doing this globally so one simply cannot blame American politicians for these actions. I bet John Blair gotta a little chub when he heard this news.
What simply is amazing our magnificent Mayor is very quite to take credit where credit is not due but when disappointment comes it obvious is somebody else’s fault. Kinda reminds us concerning the closure of Kraft General Foods. No intervention was ever played out. Of course, no mention about the closure of Keller-Schoeder was ever disclosed in the main stream news media.
