State Sen. Vaneta Becker (R-Evansville) today announced that applications are being accepted for the 2016 Power Scholarship, provided by Indiana’s Political Organization for Women’s Education and Representation (POWER) Caucus.
POWER offers 18 scholarships in the amount of $750 each to non-traditional female students in Indiana whose education has been delayed or interrupted, and who have a vision to succeed despite any adversities life has presented.
“These scholarships help those who are seeking advancements in their careers or work life, which may include women who are returning to school, changing careers or stay-at-home moms entering the workforce in need of additional education or training,†Becker said.
Becker encourages women who give back to their communities and whose goals for education align with their passions to apply for the scholarships. Applicants must be Indiana residents who plan to pursue educational endeavors in the state.
The application deadline is Dec. 4, 2015. For more information about the scholarships and to apply, visit www.INpowercaucus.org.
The POWER caucus is a forum primarily for women legislators dedicated to improving the quality of life for women and all citizens of Indiana.
