EVANSVILLE, Ind. –Â Opening a regular-season ending four-game homestand, the University of Evansville baseball team welcomes in Murray State for a non-conference matchup at 6 PM on Tuesday night at German American Bank Field at Charles H. Braun Stadium in Evansville.
Previewing the Matchup: Murray State
- The Aces and Racers are meeting for the 56th time in series history with Evansville owning a 38-17 advantage in the all-time series.
- Evansville and Murray State have not met since 2019 when the two sides split their season series.
- Murray State enters the weekend with a 28-22 overall record and most recently took two of three contests from Western Illinois this past weekend.
- Entering the final week of the regular season, the Aces sit 68th in the RPI and 63rd in CBR.
A New Home Run Mark
- Blasting five home runs this weekend, the Aces set a new program record for team home runs in a season with 67.
- Three Evansville players have 10-or-more homers, led by UE’s career leader in home runs, Tanner Craig, who has 14 bombs this season.
- The previous record of 64 was set back in 2001 in 57 games.
Onward and Upward
- Over the past three seasons, Evansville has been on an upward climb, increasing its win total each season.
- A year ago, the Aces compiled a 28-27 record, earning the conference’s seven seed in the MVC tournament.
- This season, UE has already reached. 29 win mark, doing so in 49 games and is poised to earn on of the MVC’s top three seeds in the tournament.
