COMMISSIONER HATFIELD Will NOT RUN FOR Â RE-ELECTION
There is a major difference between a leader and a politician. As the current President of the Vanderburgh County Commission Mt. Hatfield has earned the reputation that of being a leader.
He is a soft-spoken guy. Â He’s extremely likable that can communicate with people from all walks of on almost any level. Â He has a solid reputation for being honest and trustworthy. Â However, Mr. Hatfield can be a direct bottom-line fact-based negotiator
This year has been extremely challenging because of the serious budget shortfalls caused by the COVID-19 virus issue. Some of his duties and responsibilities as the President of the County Commission include management of Department Heads of the county, oversee the development of estimates and specifications of proposed capital projects, contract negotiations and help with the scheduling of proposed capital projects. He is also responsible for community relations as well as the official spokesperson for the County Commission.
Jeffrey M. Hatfield, Sr. Owner/President, is the CEO of Core Contractors, Inc. a Commercial and Multi-Family Construction, Evansville, Indiana (1999 – Present)
As a licensed commercial and residential contractor, Jeff is the owner and president of Core Contractors Inc. His duties and responsibilities include direct management of all employees, developing estimates, specifications, contract negotiations, and schedules. He is responsible for all customer contacts and relations as well. He has successfully owned and operated a small business for over thirty years.
Outside of Core Contractors Inc, Jeff loves spending time with his family and actively participating in his community. He is also an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
A few of his past affiliations include serving as president of the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Board, president of the Southern Indiana Builders Association, and vice-president of the Indiana Builders Association.
He was born and raised in Evansville, where he graduated from Reitz Memorial Catholic High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Evansville and his  Associate Degree from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, Indiana
In November 2018, Jeff was elected as Vanderburgh County Commissioner of District 2 (D). He shocked many of his supporters when he announced that he will not seek re-election to the County Commission. His term will end in December 2022. Jeff also announced that he will not be a candidate for re-election to the President of the Vanderburgh County Board Of Commissioners.
