We love beer, but these are the facts:
Rural residents and those with less education are pessimistic about their economic lives, including retirement prospects, the value of higher education and the benefits of the online shopping revolution.
Even in President Donald Trump’s own political base, they say their economic status is slipping.
Rural Americans more often view themselves as poor or working class compared with two decades ago, while views among Americans overall haven’t changed.
Rural Americans are among those least likely to say a four-year degree is worth the cost, as are those who already lack a degree.
Rural and self-described working-class Americans, in spite of frequent shopping at Wal-Mart, say that big chain stores such as Wal-Mart are bad for the country and have hurt smaller stores.
Rural and self-identified working-class Americans are wary of online shopping trends, whereas urban and upper-income people are more likely to welcome the trend.
Rural residents and those with lower educational attainment are wary of another economic trend: increasing globalization. They are more likely to say globalization doesn’t help the U.S. economy.
Rural Americans with less educational attainment, in spite of being children of immigrants, are less likely than other groups to have the view that is supportive of immigration.
Figured out how to cut and paste, eh, Basement Troller? Us rural Americans in Darmstadt, McCutchanville, Newburgh, and western Vanderburgh County, where the majority of those with higher “educational attainment” reside, are laughing at you and your little post, Troller.
Most rural people don’t really care what Beer For My Horses Asses says one way or the other.
