IS IT TRUEÂ the plans for the Vanderburgh County Public Safety Foundation event to be held on August 23, 2017 at the steps of the Veterans Memorial Coliseum is really coming together? Â …during the next several weeks you will be receiving more detailed information about this most worthily public event?
IS IT TRUE the Vanderburgh County Council met yesterday to consider approving the Convention and Visitors Bureau proposal to spend $2 million at Goebel Soccer Complex?…is this the same Goebel Soccer Complex that floods on a regular basis and there are no plans to address the storm drainage at the facility?
IS IT TRUE the proposal uses funds from the Innkeepers Tax which is paid by people when they stay at our local hotels?…that makes these funds easy pickings for the fun and games club because the people of Evansville don’t even think about what else could be done with this money?
IS IT TRUE if the CVB wants to invest money in Goebel Soccer Complex, they need to insist on fixing the existing problems with storm drainage? …this is just another multi-million dollar capital project that was done in a shoddy manner just like the ball fields score board nonsense, the North Main road width fiasco?
IS IT TRUE that yesterday uber entrepreneur founder of Tesla, Solar City, and Space X, Elon Musk tweeted that he suffers from bi-polar conditions?…Musk went on to discuss in short bursts how he enjoys the extreme highs but also has to deal with the depressive lows?… according to scientific studies genius and insanity may actually go together according to scientists who found that mental illnesses like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder are often found in highly creative and intelligent people?…Elon is in the company of some highly intelligent and impactful people with his self-diagnosis including Ludvig von Beethoven, Vincent van Gogh, mathematician John Nash, media mogul Ted Turner, Congressman Patrick Kennedy, author Ernest Hemingway, entrepreneur Rene Rivkin, and a plethora of luminaries from the fields of entertainment including Kurt Cobain, Ben Stiller, Britney Spears, Frank Sinatra, and Marilyn Monroe?…technology entrepreneurs Steve Jobs of Apple, Larry Ellison of Oracle, and Bill Gates of Microsoft all have exhibited symptoms of bi-polar disorder at some stage of their lives?…Elon Musk personally acknowledged the level of stress he is under as CEO of three large companies and the City County Observer wishes him peace, serenity, and profitability?…visionaries who can make things happen at a profit while creating jobs and wealth for regular people are few and far between?…most of us cannot even imagine the anguish that comes to the mind of people who truly aspire to greatness?
IS IT TRUE that enough states have legalized marijuana by now to begin to see the early effects of doing so?…the State of Colorado has several years of legal recreational use under their belt and much to the surprise of many, the streets are not filled with pot heads?…what has happened is that the price of the products have been falling like an internet stock in Y2K?…top grade cannabis that once sold for $10,000 per pound has dropped to the $2,000 per pound level and every empty warehouse in Denver has been converted into a grow facility?…this is good for the people that own the warehouses but not so good for the people who grow the buds or the cities and states who were budgeting to collect sales taxes on the $10,000 per pound product?…legalization hasn’t stopped smuggling and black market distribution channels either?…with sales taxes as high as 15% in some areas, there is an incentive for customers to go to the black market for dope?…municipalities in Colorado, Washington, and California which will be legal for all over 21 on January 1, 2018 are more enthusiastic about taxing the wakey tobacky than an Evansville Mayor with borrowed money to funnel to cronies to build temples to fun and games?…there is talk about policemen driving around in Hummers and other luxury SUVs all paid for with MJ taxes?
IS IT TRUE that the reality is that marijuana will be legal across the country soon and all of the farmers who have been struggling to make ends meet with corn, soybeans, almonds, peppers, and alfalfa will be ready to convert to growing dope?…that will drive the price down further as it always has with agricultural commodities?…someday soon we will see the morning farm report with beans, corn, pork bellies, and dope all streaming across the TV screen?…the ones who are poised to make significant money from dope are real estate owners, water control technologists, wavelength optimized LED lighting designers, packaging suppliers, and specialized sellers of fertilizer?…those who are expecting a sustainable profitable harvest from dope alone or the taxes from it will be as disappointed as a bride abandoned at the altar?
Todays “READERS POLL” question is: Do you feel that the Vanderburgh County Council should address the Goebel Soccer Complex storm drainage problems before spending more money at that facility?

Unfortunately, those farmers the editor mentioned may have to consider the MJ route. According to a Wall Street Journal article two weeks ago, commodity prices have fallen through the roof. As the article stated that many farmers will be in the BK court by the end of this year. The article continue to point out that land values will follow the downward trends. Of course, this Administration with its lack of vision will not factor in the possibility that property tax revenue may be in the balance . . .knowing that Butterfly McGinn is at the financial helm should make us all feel very comfortable. So, farmers, you may wish to consider the MJ route . . we all know that this Adm together with Butterfly must be using some of the product . . .

Here’s an Inconvenient Truth for those liberals who preach the Al Gore religion of climate change:
………………..
Fido and Fluffy are part of the problem, a new study by UCLA indicates.
Most cat or dog lovers would say they can’t imagine living in a world without pets, but as the threat of global warming increases, environmentally conscious pet lovers may need to make some tough choices, according to the study.
Pet ownership in the United States creates about 64 million tons of carbon dioxide a year, UCLA researchers found. That’s the equivalent of driving 13.6 million cars for a year.

Your figures are correct Joe because the average automobile in the U.S. pumps out 6 tons of carbon dioxide a year.
Total human created output is 110 million tons a day. 40 billion tons a year.
I don’t know what the percentage of 64 million out of 40 billion is because I went to the al sharpie school of dots, not math.
But I doubt even global warming believing pet owners need to lose any sleep over it….
Reg, to be fair we shouldn’t leave out Al Gore’s main house:
……………………
Former Vice President Al Gore’s 10,070-square-foot estate near Nashville, Tennessee, expended more than 21 times more energy than the average U.S. household over the past year, according to a new report.
A report by the National Center for Public Policy Research — self-described as a nonpartisan, independent conservative think tank — said that according to data obtained from the Nashville Electric Service (NES), a public electric company that powers Mr. Gore’s home and most of Nashville, the 20-room mansion in upscale Belle Meade used 230,889 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity during the past 12 months.
That’s roughly 21.4 times more than the 10,812 kWh a year used up by the typical American household, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The report, first picked up by The Daily Caller, adds that in September 2016 alone, Mr. Gore’s estate “guzzled 30,993 kWh of electricity — an amount more than 34 times the national monthly average.â€

Sounds like Brother Al needs to invest in some insulation “bigtime” Joe.
I’ve been commenting on USA Today here lately and you ought to try it Joe. It’s a hoot.
You can say, “There are 24 hours in a day”, and automatically comments of idiot, moron, snowflake, anal athlete, retard and even some negative comments and words start pouring in.
Reminds me of this;

Give it a try Joe. And don’t worry, I’ll know it’s you.
Believe me….
Bovine flatulance (cow farts) is destroying the ozone layer. But they taste so good. Yum Brands needs to start a franchise to sell Fido and Fluffy Bowls.
