The VHS is one of 108 animal shelters nationwide competing for a chance to be a part of the 2012 ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. The VHS is competing for a chance at more than $500,000 in grant funding, including the $100K Grand Prize!
The Challenge is a nationwide competition for animal shelters aimed at getting more animals in loving homes than ever before. This is a great motivator to help connect hundreds of amazing animals with the right families.
The Qualifying Heat is the first phase and we need your help getting to the next round of the Challenge! The 50 shelters with the most votes will become the official contestants! Let’s work together to make sure that the VHS is one of those contestants!

As of 12:32 today the top vote getter had 1,708 votes. The VHS had 368.
You can vote once each 24 hour period to get VHS into the top 50 agencies to compete.
The criteria for the final competition will be placing 300 more animals in “forever” homes during the period from August 1 through October 31, 2012, than were placed during the same period in 2011.
