Women’s golf starts play in Tennessee

Aces sit in 4th place

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Three University of Evansville women’s golfers are in the top 18 as the Purple Aces completed the opening round of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at Sevierville Golf Club.

Leading the way for UE was Kayla Katterhenry, who notched a 2-over 73.  Her score has her in fourth place, just one stroke behind a 3-way tie for the lead..

Maggie Camp is tied for 11th place on the leaderboard.  She carded a 79 and is just one outside of the top ten.  Giulia Mallmann also had a nice start to the event.  Her round of 81 put her in a tie for 18th place with two rounds to go.

Lexie Sollman recorded an 85 to sit in a tie for 34nd while Madison Chaney is in 36th with her score of 87.

The Aces sit in fourth place on the charts with a 318 and are one behind Belmont, who is third.  Lee University saw each of its starting five register a 79 or lower as they lead with a 304.  Tennessee Tech is five behind with a 309.  Three players pace the individuals with scores of 72.

Two more rounds of play are on tap as the tournament continues on Monday morning.
