UE Women’s Tennis to Play Four Matches in Two Days

The University of Evansville Women’s Tennis Team (1-4, 0-0 MVC) is set to endeavor on a busy Friday and Saturday with four matches in two days this upcoming weekend.  On Friday, the Aces will travel to take on IUPUI and Ball State.  They will follow that with matches on Saturday at Findlay and Wright State.

The Aces are coming off a weekend that gave them their first victory of the season when they defeated Alabama A&M by a score of 6-1 last Friday.  Evansville took the match in dominant fashion winning all matches except one to secure the 6-1 victory.

Coach Jayson Wiseman said on the win, “It was good to get our first win of the season and our team played well in both doubles and singles to earn the victory.”

On Friday, UE will start things off at 10:30 a.m. CST against IUPUI.  The Jaguars will come into the match with a record of 2-8.  They are currently riding a two game winning streak with wins over Bowling Green and Valparaiso. They will then follow that up with a 6:00 p.m. CST affair against Ball State who comes into the match with a record of 3-2 with their most recent match resulting in a 5-2 victory over Western Kentucky.

At 10:00 a.m. CST on Saturday the Aces will kick things off with Findlay in Findlay, OH.  They will follow that up with a match against Wright State in Dayton, OH.  The Raiders come in with a record of 3-1 and conference record of 1-0. They are most recently coming off a 5-2 win over conference foe Bowling Green.

This following weekend will mark the Aces first home action of the season when they host UT Martin and Eastern Illinois both on Saturday February 27th at Tri-State Athletic Club.
