Ohio Valley HeartCare, a member of St. Mary’s Medical Group, is pleased to welcome Javier Jurado, MD, FACC, Non-Invasive Cardiologist.

Dr. Jurado comes to Ohio Valley HeartCare from Meadville Medical Center in Meadville, Pennsylvania where he practiced for six years as the Director of their Non-Invasive Cardiology Department. He is a graduate of Universidad de Ciencias Medicas in San Jose, Costa Rica. Dr. Jurado completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, Connecticut and his fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio.

Dr. Jurado is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and in internal medicine. He is also board certified to read echocardiograms and nuclear tests. His services will include inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular medicine consultations. Additional services are interpretation of non-invasive studies such as stress tests, myocardial perfusion studies, echocardiograms, event recorders, and tilt table studies.

  1. Welcome to the community. I hope that you help get some patients healthier. What we need to do is prevent heart disease in the first place. We need to encourage people to stop smoking and to eat right and get more exercise.

    Also we need to clean up the environmental factors that lead to heart disease and cancer before they attack us and it’s too late. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

    I would invite all the heart doctors and cancer doctors in this area to form a group to study the environment in this area. Dr. William Tuley and others already belongs to such a group.

    I might add that some of the people who I worked with in the past didn’t’ like this idea. But a lot of them are gone now. Most of them died of cancer. Let’s get started cleaning up not just the litter in our streets but the air and water that we breath and drink. The future is in your hands Millennials
