  1. All I can say about the debate is: Stop Hillary. Both candidates are flawed. Trump is a loose cannon.t Hillarys ideas are basically Obama continued with more taxes, more unvetted refugees and leftist Judges nominated to the Supreme Court. Hillary as President, no thanks.

  2. The penguin suit was cute. Much preferable to a sinister clown.

The rise in out of pocket medical fees is a national concern that is bordering on a crisis. The darn insurance policies that we are forced to buy have seen such increases in co-payments and deductibles that they are too expensive to use. That makes them worthless to many people.

Elections have consequences and the high priced nearly useless up insurance policies that the fire and police officers were upset over is exactly a consequence of the election of 2008. So in the spirit of Wyatt Earp, I must ask “are we gonna do something about it or just sit there and bleed”.

We have. Gotten the government we deserve, and the lack of efficacy proves it.

  3. If our community knew the financial condition our City finds itself, they would be greatly alarmed. Think of it. At the first of this year, Winnecke took the one time advancement from Tropicanna amounting to $12.5 million and instead of depositing those funds into the Riverboat were they belong, he deposited the funds into operations (General Fund) and within six short months, $8.6 million is GONE. What is the solution. What does every company do when revenue does not match up with expenditures. Well most of us know except for Winnecke.

    • Ms Maid ..what you failed to mention is Russ Lloyd, Jr. neglected to pay into the hospitalization funds from the general fund $7.5 million ..why ..if he had properly funding the moneys to pay the employees’ medical bills, the hosp. fund would not be over drafted by that amount. So, instead of the hosp fund being over drafted, the General Fund would had been over drafted instead by $1.2 million and of course of the the Riverboat advancement is GONE.

      • @Benedict: Also, did you see in the Evansville paper this morning that 18 people incurred $ 7.1 Million of medical claims. That works out to $ 394,444 per person, if each person incurred the claims equally. Have these City yo-yo’s ever heard of SPECIFIC STOP LOSS coverage ? Jeez, amateurs !

    • @Meter Maid: the amount of unpaid Medical Bills was stated in this morning’s Evansville paper as “more than $ 10 MIllion”. I think on Sunday it said $ 6 Million short. Gosh, that’s a large increase of $ 4 Million in unpaid medical bills in just two days ? Must have found that last $ 4 Million stashed underneath Russ’ chair ???

  4. I think we need a None Of The Above option.
With two flawed candidates such as these the choice is basically The Douche or The Turd Sandwich!

    • Exactly. Which ever turd is elected, they will only have four years. One thing that Trump said will come true ..the Federal Reserve is playing politics and causing a great bubble which will burst ..the over/under says it will happen within the next four years.

  5. Is there somewhere to see just exactly what the insurance/compensation program for the city is? I have had to raise our deductibles the last couple of years in an effort to keep premiums from becoming completely outrageous (as have many). So if only the deductible is going up and nothing else then it seems that nothing would change should they not need to use the insurance.

    • My suggestion is to go to the controller’s office under the freedom of Information Act and obtain a copy of the coverages. You will see that this City has a Cadillac plan. Just wait until the Cadillac tax under Obamacare kicks in ..these employees have not seen anything yet!!!

    • I can tell you that in the past when I was researching it, the city had one of the best, if not the best plan that St. Mary’s had to offer. Basically their “gold plan”, in fact I think that is what they called it. It was very expensive.

  6. To paraphrase a famous Charlie Daniels song:
…Hillary bowed her head because she knew that she’d been beat.
And she laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Donald Trumps feet.
Trump said, “Hillary, just come on back. If you ever wanna try again,
I done told you once—you lying old bitch—I’m the best that’s ever been.”

Hilliary has made Deplorable a badge of honor.
    Make America Great Again!

    • Wow! Here’s a fact check from last night-http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/factchecking-the-first-debate/ar-BBwGgwX?ocid=ASUDHP. I think you’ll find your hero can tell some lies, himself.

  7. 4 things I took away from the debate last night – bigly, biggly, bigglie, however it’s spelled, I figured since Trump was using it, lie had to be attached to it somewhere.

The Donald’s hair looked like it had been steam rolled by the Posey County Hiway Department.

Little Marco must have rehearsed him on drinking water in front of the camera.

And when Hillary pointed out Mop Head had said climate change was a hoax perpetrated by China, Mr D said 3 times in a row he did not say that.

He tweeted it 6 times instead which proved beyond a shadow of a doubt to a Trump supporter that Hillary lied like a dog when she said that.

Debate score: Candidate who lies 28% of the time +1. Candidate who lies 76% of the time -1….

  8. I think Trump, as ridiculous as he was last night, didn’t lose any support. He did prove that he can’t “look presidential” and that he is lacking in stamina, but neither of those things matter to his Chumps. On the other hand, I don’t believe the panting, snorting, and gibberish he was reduced to gained him any support, either.

I doubt that Hillary lost any support, but I am wondering if she won any new support. This election is a nail-biter, and it shouldn’t be. What a pair to choose from!

  9. If it were not for the hype Mrs. Clinton gets from the fawning lamestream media no one would be talking about her. People are going to be shocked as hell when they see the margin by which Donald Trump beats her in the General Election!

      • I don’t think they can let him go out there again. He showed his level again last night. Out classed.

His redeeming factor would be when one like him comes along every several decades, it smokes the Nazi’s out of the closet. Gets them on the record. They go through terrible twists and turns trying to justify the gibberish their neo clown-hero spouts. Even laud it. They will always be with us. Fortunately they seldom groundhog up, generally content to nurse their biases and bigotries in the darkness.

        • Absolutely. I hope the young people who are looking to Gary Johnson wake up to the fact that their vote is far too precious to waste on a “protest vote.” This election is too close not to see to it that your vote counts.

  10. Hillary Clinton supporters not great supporters of the First Amendment, or property rights.

    https://youtu.be/DvoiEWW3R2c

Sneaking around in the dark like a common criminal. Both these victims are veterans who served their country.

  11. I have to ask exactly what the heck people mean by squawking about companies and some people not paying their “fair share” of taxes? If they are paying exactly what the law requires them to are they not by definition paying their “fair share”? This is one point in last night’s debate that I found to be completely disingenuous.

Did Senator Clinton propose tax reform when she was in a position to do so? She did not, so she is complicit in defining what a “fair share” is.

The one thing Trump said last night that really was true is that paying a minimal amount makes him (or his lawyers) smart. I wish more people could be so smart. Then we may get real tax reform and maybe just maybe it will be simple without loopholes for campaign contributors to exploit.

Remember, when Goldman Sachs pays Hillary or Bill $250,000 for a 20 minute speech that is an operating expense that reduces their tax burden by roughly $100,000. Is that not snatching a meal from the mouths of the poor too? Then if Hill or Bill donate it to their own foundation it is completely tax free. Goldman Sachs gives them $150,000 and the taxpayers kick in the other $100,000. I wonder why Hillary never proposed tax reform when she was a Senator. Perhaps she is not paying her “fair share” by her own definition of the term either.

  12. Here’s the legacy of the Obama/Hillary open borders and importation of mass quantities on unvetted Muslims from counties that sponsor and harbor Jihadi terrorists:

“The nation’s top counterterrorism official testified Tuesday that the world’s army of terrorists is “broader, wider and deeper than any point since 9/11,” the day al Qaeda attacked America.”
