The motorcyclist killed yesterday on SR 66 near Section Line Road has been identified as Kenneth Koberstein, 42, of Evansville.
At approximately 6:36 this evening, motorists traveling SR 66 near Section Line Road stopped when they observed a Honda motorcycle in a field. When they approached the motorcycle they observed the motorcyclist in the ditch between the roadway and the motorcycle.
Preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling westbound on SR 66 approximately 1,700 feet east of Section Line Road when for unknown reasons left the roadway on the north side and came to a final rest in a field approximately 25 feet from the roadway. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time investigating officers do not have any witnesses to the crash. The investigation is continuing. The identity of the motorcyclist will be released after his family has been notified.
