“LEFT JAB AND RIGHT JAB”

“Right Jab And Left Jab” was created because we have two commenters that post on a daily basis either in our “IS IT TRUE” or “Readers Forum” columns concerning National or International issues.
Joe Biden and Ronald Reagan’s comments are mostly about issues of national interest.  The majority of our “IS IT TRUE” columns are about local or state issues, so we have decided to give Mr. Biden and Mr. Reagan exclusive access to our newly created “LEFT JAB and RIGHT JAB”  column. They now have this post to exclusively discuss national or world issues that they feel passionate about.
We shall be posting the “LEFT JAB” AND “RIGHT JAB” several times a week.  Oh, “Left Jab” is a liberal view and the “Right Jab is representative of the more conservative views. Also, any reader who would like to react to the written comments of the two gentlemen is free to do so.

  1. Blue State Blues: Trump’s Fourth of July Speech Was Patriotism over Politics

President Donald Trump did more than defy his critics with his memorable Fourth of July address from the Lincoln Memorial on Thursday evening.

He likely established what will become an annual tradition — one later presidents, decades from now, will continue to observe.

And he gave the American people the tribute that we have long deserved, but which we have somehow been unable, until now, to give ourselves, too afraid to pass along to the next generation….

Trump thanked the military, and law enforcement, and Gold Star families. And he offered a moving tribute to each of the five branches of the armed forces, recounting the history of each, noting its greatest deeds.

The military band sang and played the song of each branch as its aircraft flew overhead. Trump used the opportunity to urge young Americans to join the armed forces: how often has any president made such a direct appeal, against such a moving backdrop?

This was not a political speech: it was a patriotic milestone. Trump invited us to celebrate our country — boldly and explicitly. It was, somehow, something previous presidents were too timid to do.

Al-Qaeda-Linked Kenyan Jihadi Studying to Be a Pilot Arrested in Philippines with Explosives

…The 9/11 Commission report mentioned al-Qaeda’s links to the Philippines where the jihadi group has long maintained ties to local radical Islamic organizations.

Some of those groups have switched their allegiance to al-Qaeda’s rival the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) in recent years.

Although the Philippines is a Catholic-majority nation, it houses a predominantly Muslim region in the southern part of the country.

Considered one of Africa’s most powerful, violent, and far-reaching al-Qaeda branches, the Somalia-based al-Shabaab reportedly has international goals.

    Nairobi News reported:

Philippines National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said that Mr. Cholo Abdi Abdullah was arrested at Rasca Hotel in Iba, Zambales, located north west of the country. Major General Amador Corpus, the Director of Criminal Investigations and Detection Group (CIDG), said the suspect was arrested and taken to custody.

Citing a police report, the news outlet revealed that Filipino authorities reportedly “seized a 9-mm pistol, magazine and ammunition, one unit of an improvised explosive device, a hand grenade, and other bomb-making components.”

A little 8-year-old girl named Ava had been doing some very funny riffs making fun of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but now she has deleted her social media account and has stopped the fun because liberals rooted out her name and address and they flooded her home with death threats….

  4. “It’s another step towards tyranny and abdication of the rule of law when Members of Congress urge Supreme Court decisions to be ignored”

JethroBodine👨‍🌾 will be encouraging 💩Twittler💩 to IGNORE the Supreme Court AND the American Constitution. Yet we ALL know that if President Obama had used this method to do anything the right-wing Twittlers would have FREAKED out, which shows how racist and hypocritical they are

GOP Congressman Urges Trump To Reject Supreme Court Ruling On Citizenship Question

Freshman Republican Congressman Chip Roy (R-TX) urged Trump on Tuesday to ignore the Supreme Court’s decision on a controversial census citizenship question and to unilaterally order the question be included, advising him to print the survey with the question regardless of the court’s ruling

“It’s the lawyers advising him. Trump should ignore them. Completely. Print the Census with the questions, and issue a statement explaining why” Roy tweeted referring to the Supreme Court Justices

His suggestion that the leader of the Executive Branch defy a ruling by the Judicial Branch’s top court would require Trump to take action that’s PROHIBITED by the Constitution. Current law and the Constitution hinder a president’s ability to delay the questionnaire

The Supreme Court struck a blow last week to the Commerce Department’s attempt to add the question, which critics argue would discourage large swaths of minorities and undocumented people from answering and lead to inaccurate results about population sizes. Among other things, the decennial census is used by states to redraw congressional districts based on populations that last a decade, potentially having nationwide political impacts, such as which party controls the House

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote that the Commerce Department lacked justification when claiming the question would help enforce the Voting Rights. He described it as “contrived” reasoning and further said that the evidence indicated the Commerce Department made the decision to add the question before going to the Justice Department seeking legal justification

“Accepting contrived reasons would defeat the purpose of the enterprise. If judicial review is to be more than an empty ritual, it must demand something better than the explanation offered for the action taken in this case. We do not hold that the agency decision here was substantively invalid. But agencies must pursue their goals reasonably. Reasoned decision-making under the Administrative Procedure Act calls for an explanation for agency action. What was provided here was more of a distraction”

On Tuesday night Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said the administration would not be asking the citizenship question and had begun printing the survey without it, saying “I respect the Supreme Court but strongly disagree with its ruling regarding my decision to reinstate a citizenship question on the 2020 Census. The Census bureau has started the process of printing the decennial questionnaires without the question”

It’s still an open question as to whether or not the Trump administration will actually follow the Supreme Court’s ruling, since it has no real means of enforcing its rulings other than a long-standing norm which, as we know from Trump’s continuous ethical violations, this administration is not particularly fond of. This is a point made by Alexander Hamilton in the Federalist papers:

“The judiciary has no influence over either the sword or the purse, no direction either of the strength or of the wealth of the society, and can take no active resolution whatever. It must ultimately depend upon the aid of the executive arm even for the efficacy of its judgments”

    • Democrat presidents have a long history of ignoring SCOTUS opinions, in particular, Jefferson, Jackson, and FDR. But you would have to know factual history and the sources you always cut and paste don’t know current facts, much less historical ones.

      • 💩💩💩BZZZZZZ💩💩💩 WRONG again, Burnie. You need to stop listening to JethroBodine👨‍🌾

In 1832, President Andrew Jackson sat back and let Georgia Gov. Wilson Lumpkin ride roughshod over Cherokee land rights that the Supreme Court had asserted in Worcester v. Georgia. He mused to a friend, ”the decision of the Supreme Court has fell stillborn, and they find that they cannot coerce Georgia to yield to its mandate” Chief Justice John Marshall had ruled against Andrew Jackson’s interest in dealing with the Native American populations. But upon further inspection, the ruling in Worcester v Georgia was actually not a constitutional crisis

Marshall ruled that Georgia did not have the ability to regulate the interaction between Georgians and the Cherokee; instead, only the federal government has that power. Georgia did comply and they freed Worcester eventually, but Andrew Jackson had nothing to enforce, since the federal government was not a party to the suit. Moreover, the Indian Removal Act had already been passed, and so the removal of native tribes on the Trail of Tears continued, with Marshall’s ruling changing nothing

At the start of World War II, President Franklin D. Roosevelt suggested he would try a group of German saboteurs in a military tribunal, whether or not the Supreme Court agreed it was right. The saboteurs, convicted of war crimes by a military commission, actually had their day in a civilian court—in three courts, including the Supreme Court—as they pursued unsuccessfully a writ of habeas corpus. They were not executed until after the Supreme Court had upheld the President’s power to set up the military commission. There was never an occasion for Roosevelt to ignore the Court

Chief Justice Taney (in the capacity of a Circuit Court) ruled that Lincoln had unconstitutionally suspended habeas corpus during the Civil War. The court ruled only Congress has that power. Lincoln and the US Army defied the order, but eventually Congress sort of said retroactively that it was ok. Some other courts agreed with Taney, but Lincoln ignored them and kept arresting people without trial. Eventually Congress suspended Habeas Corpus officially in 1863, two years after the case

Your history lessons are, as always, full of hot air (like Twittler)

        • Thank you for proving me right, Ronnie. It’s always appreciated, even when unintentional.

        • The President with great advice to illegal immigrants. This will drive the far left even more nuts:
          ………………………………………………………………………….

Trump’s Response To Condition Of Migrant Detention Centers: ‘Tell Them Not To Come’

President Donald Trump suggested the best solution for poor quality migrant detention centers is to tell would-be immigrants not to illegally cross the border.

“I think they do a great job with those facilities, but you know how it can be taken care of? Number one: Tell them not to come because it’s illegal,” the president said Friday when a reporter asked about a report from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General that found migrant detention centers to be overcrowded and unclean….

They’ll be starting fairly soon, but I don’t call them raids. We’re removing people that have come — all of these people over the years — that have come in illegally. We are removing them and bringing them back into their country,” Trump explained Friday.

        • Thank you for proving me correct. Again. Confirmation is always appreciated, even when unintentional.

  5. Day 895: Moving Forward?

1/ A report from the Department of Homeland Security’s independent watchdog found the squalid conditions at migrant detention camps were more widespread than initially revealed. The report describes standing-room-only cells, children without access to showers or hot meals, and detainees desperately begging to be released. Inspectors visited five facilities in June, where they found many migrants are given only wet wipes to clean themselves and bologna sandwiches to eat, leading to additional health problems. Children at two of the camps were not given hot meals until inspectors arrived. Overcrowding was so severe that migrants were banging on cell walls and pressing notes up against the windows begging for help. (New York Times / Reuters)

2/ A federal judge blocked Attorney General William Barr’s order to indefinitely detain immigrants seeking asylum and deny them bail if they crossed into the U.S. border without permission. The order requires immigration judges to conduct hearings for asylum applicants to ask for release on bail within seven days if they have shown a “credible fear” of returning to their country of origin. (Bloomberg / New York Times)

3/ The National Parks Service is diverting $2.5 million meant to improve parks in order to cover costs associated with Trump’s Fourth of July event on the National Mall. Trump officials have consistently refused to disclose how much taxpayers will have to pay for the “Salute to America” event. The diverted park fees make up just a fraction of the extra costs the government will have to pay as a result of the event, which will include tanks, military flyovers, Air Force One, and an extended pyrotechnics display. • Flashback: When Democrats Deployed Tanks on American Soil, Americans Got Killed

Democrats, activists and members of the media (but I repeat myself) have reacted hysterically to President Trump’s decision to display a couple M1A1 Abrams tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles on the National Mall as part of a Salute to America Fourth of July celebration. They have made comparisons to China and concentration camps, but what they don’t bring up is what Democrats have done when they deployed tanks against Americans.

Wait, is that Hillary Clinton complaining about a display of military force?

Flashback to 1993 when Hillary and co-President Bill Clinton were in the White House.

Many reports are online about the controversial Waco siege that killed 75, including 25 children.

  6. ***BREAKING*** JethroBodine👨‍🌾’s Twittler once again shows his immoral and unethical behavior (while JethroBodine👨‍🌾 uses 💩Gateway💩 ignorance to gripe about something from 26 years ago)

Congressman Alerts FBI To Possible Trump 4th Of July Bribe

Rep. Ted Lieu cc’d the FBI on a tweet about Trump potentially accepting a bribe for his 4th of July party.

Trump may have accepted a bribe to delay tariffs

Matt McDermott laid out how Trump delayed tariffs after he got some free fireworks for his 4th of July party:

    (1) Fireworks CEO meets with Trump in Oval Office to oppose tariffs
    (2) CEO announces ‘donation’ to Trump’s 4th of July event
    (3) *That same day* Trump announces delay to very same tariffs.

July 4th fireworks donor lobbied Trump on tariffs and won a reprieve. Trump’s Fourth of July celebration will feature $750,000 of donated fireworks from an Ohio retailer who has lobbied the White House against tariffs.

If it turns out that Trump was bribed with fireworks, it would the most Trump thing ever. Of course, Trump would be too cheap to pay for his own fireworks, so he committed a felony to get them for free. That’s how Trump has operated for his entire life, and his presidency is no different. The FBI should look into Trump’s shady 4th of July party, but House Democrats shouldn’t wait for a federal law enforcement investigation

The Trump inauguration is already under criminal investigation. If the House digs deep, they will find the same level of criminality and corruption inside of Trump’s 4th of July party.

Trump Turned Off Webcam at National Mall So People Could Not See the Bad Turnout at 4th Event

Trump delivered remarks his yammering “Salute to America” event in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington on Thursday

And it seems Trump knew the turnout has been a big failure, as the webcam on the National Mall, which is normally on 24/7, was been temporarily shut down so people won’t be able to see the meager crowds at Trump’s event.

The webcam at the National Mall was abruptly shut down without notice and has been removed from the http://whitehouse.gov to stop viewers from seeing the lack of attendees at the #TrumpParade

  8. Remember Comrade Reagan claiming that right-wing attacks are far for common and dangerous that those radical Islamists? Facts always beat fake news
    …………………………………………….

    Europol 2018 Stats: 24 Jihadist Attacks, 19 Left-Wing, Only 1 Right-Wing

All fatalities in 2018 were victims of Islamic jihadists.

New stats from Europol covering 2018 emphasize once again how jihadist and left-wing terror is the biggest threat, with jihadists being responsible for 24 attacks, left-wingers 19 attacks and right-wingers just one attack….

Of the rest, 24 were Islamic jihadist attacks, 19 were left-wing attacks and just one was a right-wing attack.

13 people were killed in terrorist attacks across Europe in 2018, all of them victims of jihadists.

While the numbers are encouraging because they show a reduction in total attacks compared to 2017, the biggest terror threat is clearly Islamic jihadists followed by left-wing extremists.
