Thanks to a Travis Harrison grand slam, the Evansville Otters beat the Gateway Grizzlies 4-2 in the second game of their series on Wednesday at Bosse Field in front of 1,754 fans.

A Trae Santos single in the top of the first inning scored Artemis Kadkhodian to give the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead.

Gateway doubled their lead in the second on a Kevin Martir RBI single.

The Otters mounted a late rally in the eighth. With one out, Ryan Long began the charge with a sharp single to right. David Cronin then walked, and after a Toby Thomas fly out to left, Jeff Gardner walked to load the bases. On an 0-1 pitch, Travis Harrison drilled a home run, his third of the year, over the left field wall for a grand slam, putting the Otters up 4-2.

Mitch Aker came on to shut the door in the ninth, recording two strike outs en route to his league leading eighth save of the season.

Otters starter Luc Rennie receives a no-decision despite a stellar outing. Rennie went seven innings and struck out a career high 11 batters while giving up just two runs.

Kyano Cummings earns his first win of the year after pitching a scoreless eighth.

Mike Elwood receives a no decision for the Grizzlies despite throwing 6.1 innings of shutout baseball and allowing only three hits.

Colton Freeman is saddled with the loss after being charged with three of the four runs in the eighth inning.
