Helpful info about new moped laws that take effect Jan. 1, 2015

 

      After a great deal of work among interested parties, new state laws take effect on Jan. 1, 2015, governing the licensing and use of “motor driven cycles” (previously referred to as “mopeds” or “motorized bicycles”).

      The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) has compiled a handy summary of these new laws and has posted a FAQ online.

This BMV website also lists helpful safety recommendations for those who plan to operate motorcycles or motor driven cycles on Indiana’s public roadways.
