The 96th West Side Nut Club Fall Festival concludes Saturday night after a week of music, food, contests, rides, pageants and parades. An Evansville tradition since 1921, the festival occupies over four city blocks is considered to be one of the largest street festivals in the United States.

The Sheriff’s Office has been talking to festival goers all week long at our tent located at the intersection of W. Franklin Street and N. 11th Avenue (next to the lost and found booth). Stop by the Sheriff’s Office Fall Festival tent today and pick up a free munchie map. Untill 4:00 PM today you can also enter for a chance to win a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle from the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association (ISA). Proceeds will benefit the families of deputies and officers killed in the line of duty as well as the ISA’s Youth Leadership Camps and Scholarship Program.

Sheriff Dave Wedding stated, “The Evansville Police Department and the Evansville Fire Department have had their work cut out for them all week long. Managing and attending to a crowd of over 200,000 people is no small task.” The Sheriff added, “I’d also like to thank the West Side Nut Club for organizing this fantastic event. Thanks to their hard work, 136 local charities and civic organizations had the opportunity to raise vital funding that directly benefits the community.”
