“Right Jab And Left Jab” was created because we have two commenters that post on a daily basis either in our “IS IT TRUE” or “Readers Forum” columns concerning National or International issues.
Joe Biden and Ronald Reagan’s comments are mostly about issues of national interest.  The majority of our “IS IT TRUE” columns are about local or state issues, so we have decided to give Mr. Biden and Mr. Reagan exclusive access to our newly created “LEFT JAB and RIGHT JAB”  column. They now have this post to exclusively discuss national or world issues that they feel passionate about.
We shall be posting the “LEFT JAB” AND “RIGHT JAB” several times a week.  Oh, “Left Jab” is a liberal view and the “Right Jab is representative of the more conservative views. Also, any reader who would like to react to the written comments of the two gentlemen is free to do so.

  1. Carbon Dioxide Levels In The Atmosphere Hit Highest Mark In Human History

Carbon dioxide levels in the Earth’s atmosphere have soared to a new high, one never before been seen in human history, researchers announced as temperatures near the Arctic circle rose into the 80s

Temperatures in Arkhangelsk, Russia, a coastal city along the White Sea, hit 84 degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday. That city’s average high for this time of year is around 54 degrees, The Washington Post reported

These alarmingly warm temperatures came as a daily CO2 reading by atmospheric researchers on Saturday recorded a 415.26 parts per million (ppm) baseline. It’s the first daily baseline to top 415 ppm in mankind’s history, the researchers with San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography said

“Not just in recorded history, not just since the invention of agriculture 10,000 years ago” Eric Holthaus, a meteorologist and writer for the non-profit environmental magazine Grist, emphasized on a Twitter post “Since before modern humans existed millions of years ago”

Researchers have collected the daily measurements for more than 60 years at Hawaii’s Mauna Loa Observatory, an atmospheric baseline station considered ideal for monitoring atmospheric conditions because of its undisturbed air, remote location, and minimal influences of vegetation and human activity. Those measurements are then compared to those from hundreds of thousands of years ago after analyzing gas contained in ice cores

This CO2 data shows a significant spike in CO2 levels in more modern years, as well as particular milestones in more recent times. Atmospheric CO2 measurements have been collected at the atmospheric baseline station Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii since the 1950s

At the end of 2018, the Mauna Loa Observatory recorded the fourth-highest annual growth in the concentration of atmospheric CO2 in its 60 years of record keeping. In 2013, CO2 levels were recorded as exceeding 400 ppm for the first time in human history. To offer some comparison, CO2 levels were around 315 ppm at the start of record keeping in the 1950s

The Director of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography’s CO2 program said the current rise is from both human and natural causes, having previously said that human activity is undeniably to blame for CO2 levels rising so high, primarily due to fossil fuel burning

“Because fossil-fuel burning is not natural, the recent carbon increases in the atmosphere, oceans, and land biosphere cannot be natural either. Few if any natural processes can release fossil carbon into the atmosphere as fast as we humans are doing it now via the extraction and burning of fossil fuels”

Trump has made illegal immigration the centerpiece of his political career, but new data published Monday shows Cheetolini’s signature issue is built on a lie. According to a new analysis published in The New York Times, THERE IS “NO EVIDENCE” TO SUPPORT THE CLAIM MADE BY TRUMP AND HIS SUPPORTERS THAT UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS CAUSE SPIKES IN VIOLENT CRIME

In fact, according to the report, many of the places with a higher migrant population actually recorded larger drops in crime than other areas. More from The New York Times:

For the first time, there is an opportunity for a broader analysis of how unauthorized immigration might have affected crime rates since 2007. A large majority of the areas recorded decreases in both violent and property crime between 2007 and 2016, consistent with a quarter-century decline in crime across the United States. The analysis found that crime went down at similar rates regardless of whether the undocumented population rose or fell. Areas with more unauthorized migration appeared to have larger drops in crime, although the difference was small and uncertain.

The results of the analysis resemble those of other studies on the relationship between undocumented immigration and crime. Last year, a report by the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank, found that unauthorized immigrants in Texas committed fewer crimes than their native-born counterparts. A state-level analysis in Criminology, an academic journal, found that undocumented immigration did not increase violent crime and was in fact associated with slight decreases in it. Another Cato study found that unauthorized immigrants are less likely to be incarcerated

At the more local level, an analysis by Governing magazine reported that metropolitan areas with more undocumented residents had similar rates of violent crime, and significantly lower rates of property crime, than areas with smaller numbers of such residents in 2014. After controlling for multiple socioeconomic factors, the author of the analysis, Mike Maciag, found that for every 1 percentage point increase in an area’s population that was undocumented there were 94 fewer property crimes per 100,000 residents

Trump’s immigration lie keeps his supporters scared and angry. The analysis published in The New York Times on Monday only confirms what other studies have shown for quite some time: Undocumented immigrants commit crimes at lower rates than native-born Americans.

Of course, by attacking immigrants during his campaign and his presidency, Trump’s goal has never been to tell the truth. It’s always been to keep his base scared and angry by tapping into their pre-existing antipathy toward immigrants. It’s why he launched his campaign by attacking Mexican immigrants as criminals and rapists. It’s why, like a broken record, he promises to build a wall on the southern border. It’s why he declared a fake national emergency.

Trump knows his best bet politically is to play into peoples’ fears and prejudices – even if they’re completely baseless.

      • All crimes by illegal aliens are preventable. If they were not here illegally, none of the crimes could be committed. That logical fact is lost on the leftists like Comrade Reagan:

34,709 Recent Crimes Committed by Illegal Aliens: Where’s the News Coverage?

There were 34,709 crimes of various types committed by illegal aliens in fiscal years 2016, 2017 and the 11 months of 2018, according to the United States Customs and Border Patrol or CBP, one of the seven components of the Department of Homeland Security.

While the largest number of crimes – more than fifteen thousand or 44 percent of the arrests and convictions of illegal aliens – were for unlawful entry or reentry, all the other crimes – 19,510 offenses or 56 percent – caused financial, medical, physical, psychological or sexual harm, impairment, or damage to the hapless victims, or led to their deaths.

    • The Fake News has done it’s job as the disinformation arm of the far left Democratic Party:
Less than two-in-15 American voters are aware of the soaring levels of illegal immigration across the United States-Mexico border, a new survey finds.

The latest Harvard/Harris Poll reveals that when Americans are asked how many illegal aliens are arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border, only about 13 percent answer correctly. Meanwhile, about 76 percent of Americans believe illegal immigration levels are vastly lower than they actually are.

For example, there were nearly 100,000 border apprehensions in April, alone. This puts illegal immigration at the southern border on track to outpace every year of illegal immigration under former President Obama and take the U.S. back to Bush era levels. At current rates, experts project there to be 863,000 border apprehensions this Fiscal Year, though this only counts illegal aliens who are caught at the border and does not include those who successfully cross.

    • Each illegal has already committed the crime of illegal entry. But, the NYT claims they commit less crimes than legal residents. Makes perfect sense if your brain does not work.

      • In her new book, Suzy Favor Hamilton, the Olympian-turned-escort, details her secret life as “Kelly Lundy” a $600-an-hour hooker who considered herself “the kind of wild girl” who could make a client’s “dreams come true”

As an escort for the Las Vegas-based agency Haley Heston’s Private Collection Hamilton spent a year turning tricks in several other cities “But when I was an escort as Kelly Lundy it came natural. It was so easy. It was so fun and the high from my mania was incredible” she told Sports Illustrated

In short order, “Kelly Lundy” became one of Las Vegas’s top hookers, according to The Erotic Review, a web site that ranks escorts based on detailed customer reviews

“A visit with Kelly is more than what you can expect and will leave you wondering” and “If you’re looking for a sharp lady who has been sexually self-restrained by her other busy careers, and who now wants to make up for lost time call and ask for Kelly”

  3. Foreign meddling in US presidential election? Don’t look for this to be reported on any liberal main stream media like CNN or MSNBC:

Entertainer/Businessman and Malaysian Financier Indicted for Conspiring to Make and Conceal Foreign and Conduit Contributions During 2012 U.S. Presidential Election

A United States entertainer and businessman and a Malaysian financier were charged in a four-count indictment unsealed today in the District of Columbia for conspiring to make and conceal foreign and conduit campaign contributions during the United States presidential election in 2012, announced Assistant Attorney General Brian Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division.

Prakazrel “Pras” Michel, 46, and Low Taek Jho, 37, also known as “Jho Low,” were charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States government and for making foreign and conduit campaign contributions. Michel also was charged with one count of a scheme to conceal material facts and two counts of making a false entry in a record in connection with the conspiracy. Michel appeared today for his arraignment before U.S. Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey in the District of Columbia. Low remains at large.

According to the indictment, between June 2012 and November 2012, Low directed the transfer of approximately $21,600,000 from foreign entities and accounts to Michel for the purpose of funneling significant sums of money into the United States presidential election as purportedly legitimate contributions, all while concealing the true source of the money….

  4. British General Says There’s NO EVIDENCE Of ‘Increased Threat’ From Iran, Undermining Trump-Bolton War Narrative

A British general threw a wrench into the Trump administration’s narrative that Iran is plotting attacks on American troops in the Middle East by telling reporters gathered at the Pentagon Tuesday that “there’s been no increased threat from Iranian-backed forces” in the region

“We monitor them along with a whole range of others because that’s the environment we’re in,” said Maj. Gen. Chris Ghika speaking from Baghdad that “If the threat level seems to go up then we’ll raise our force protection measures accordingly”

Apparently eager to squash the general’s remarks, the United States Central Command issued a statement just hours later disputing Ghika’s comments and repeating national security adviser John Bolton’s unsubstantiated claim that American intelligence has “identified credible threats” from “Iranian-backed forces” in Iraq and Syria

The public dispute came as anti-war voices and foreign policy analysts warned that the United States, led by Bolton, may be attempting to manufacture a false pretext to justify launching a war with Iran. As reported on Tuesday, United States officials are (without any concrete evidence) attempting to blame Iran for attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend

The effort to pin the tanker attacks on Iran came just over a week after Bolton used the planned deployment of an American aircraft carrier and bomber task force to the Persian Gulf to threaten Iran with military action and warn (again, without evidence) of “escalatory indications” from Iran. According to the New York Times, which reported that Trump has reviewed a Bolton plan to send 120,000 troops to the Middle East to threaten Iran, Trump administration officials are having a difficult time convincing America’s European allies to join them on their march to war

“Intelligence and military officials in Europe as well as in the United States said that over the past year, most aggressive moves have originated not in Tehran, but in Washington where John Bolton, the national security adviser, has prodded Trump into backing Iran into a corner”

One American official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss confidential internal planning, said the new intelligence of an increased Iranian threat was “small stuff” and did not merit the military planning being driven by Bolton. The official also said the ultimate goal of the yearlong economic sanctions campaign by Trump to draw Iran into an armed conflict with the United States

The American official’s assessment aligns with that of foreign policy observers, who have urgently warned in recent days that the Trump administration is escalating tensions with Iran in an effort to provoke an attack and spark an all-out war. Bolton is methodically setting the stage for war with Iran—forcing Iran into a corner and then readying war plans for when Iran takes the bait. Iran has thus far acted with restraint in the face of United States belligerence, urging diplomacy and attempting to restart negotiations with Europe over the terms of the Iran nuclear accord.

A war with Iran would be an absolute disaster. The United States Congress must do everything it can, to prevent the Trump administration’s attempts to put us on the brink of a catastrophic and unconstitutional war with Iran that could lead to even more deaths than the Iraq War. We cannot let the Trump admin drag us into yet another war in the Middle East. This is exactly why the president doesn’t have the constitutional authority to declare war. That’s Congress’s job

      • “Ambassador of Iran to U.N. disputes Iranian threat as ‘fake intelligence’

So did the top British general in Iraq Joe. You see, when you tell 10,000 lies in 2 years, people other than people who do the same tend not to believe you. Which happens to be the majority in this case.

Keep this in mind Joe because as they say, “History always repeats itself”

“But FDR did not want to cut off oil. As he told his Cabinet on July 18, an embargo meant war, for that would force oil-starved Japan to seize the oil fields of the Dutch East Indies. But a State Department lawyer named Dean Acheson drew up the sanctions in such a way as to block any Japanese purchases of U.S. oil. By the time FDR found out, in September, he could not back down.”

Here is the first sentence out of a MarketsInsider article – “As President Donald Trump moves to shut Iran out of the oil market,”

If only everyone with the last name that starts with “T” would be first in line to show them rascal Iranians and put their physical ass on the line in combat, I’d say give it a shot.

Because it’s not the Iranians that are a threat to our security, it’s the “T’s”

And as usual, you can take that to shar pie’s bank. The drunk teller will cash it….

    • Iran-backed militias move rockets in range of U.S. troops: Report

The current ramping up of U.S. military posturing against Iran was triggered by U.S. intelligence that showed Tehran-backed militias in Iraq moving rockets to locations that could hit bases where American troops are positioned in the nation, according to sources familiar with the intelligence.

Trump administration officials have said the Pentagon’s bumping up of the deployment last week of a U.S. aircraft carrier and bomber group to the region was justified by intelligence on threats of a potentially imminent attack by Iran on U.S. interests in Iraq, but have provided no specific details publicly.

      • So you heard it here first Joe, Iraq WILL NOT be our ally if we invade Iran.

Let that soak in a little bit.

And no, the Iranians WILL NOT welcome us as liberators. Even the Jews living there won ‘t.

        So sad….

  5. When Democrats are in charge:
America’s 10 largest cities, largely Democrat strongholds, are drowning in municipal debt, according to a new report from government watchdog Truth in Accounting.

The report sought out “to determine what … overlapping financial entities mean for taxpayers’ bottom line.” Truth in Accounting said its purpose was to “calculate the various bills (and surpluses, when available) at the city government level and divide them out to determine a per-Taxpayer Burden.”

The two cities with the highest burden: Chicago and New York City; Chicago’s combined taxpayer burden: $119,110; New York City’s combined taxpayer burden: $85,600.
