On Friday, November 28, 2014 at 3:24am the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office located a stolen 2006 Chevrolet Uplander minivan in the parking lot of Wal-Mart on S. Red Bank Road. The vehicle had been reported stolen to the Evansville Police Department earlier that morning.

A Sheriff’s Deputy and an Evansville Police Officer watched the vehicle and then observed a 16-year-old male enter the vehicle and then drive off. The vehicle was signaled to stop, but fled south on S. Red Bank Rd. The vehicle crashed at S. Red Bank and Pennington Road and the driver was taken into custody by the Evansville Police Department.

While the above pursuit was occurring, an Evansville Police Officer observed a second stolen vehicle leave the Wal-Mart parking lot. That vehicle was a 2013 Chrysler 200 that had been reported stolen earlier in the month. At 3:43am a Sheriff’s Deputy observed the stolen Chrysler at Saint Joseph Ave and SR 62. With the assistance of the Evansville Police Department, the deputy signaled the vehicle to stop and the driver surrendered at W. Michigan Street and N. 12th Avenue. Both of the vehicle’s two 14-year-old occupants were taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Office.

All three juveniles were later lodged at the Youth Care Center and will appear in Juvenile Court on Monday.
