Vanderburgh County Welcomes Its First Ever Libertarian Office Holder

(Darmstadt, Indiana) Wednesday, May 11th, the Darmstadt Town Council interviewed two candidates, Crystal Kahre and Jay Sollman, for the vacant District 3 council seat. After consideration, the council voted unanimously to appoint Mr. Sollman to the council making him the first ever Libertarian office holder in Vanderburgh County history.

Jay is a lifetime resident of Vanderburgh County, a graduate of Central High School, a veteran of the US Navy, and recently graduated from the University of Southern Indiana. In his spare time, he is very active in community service and local politics, currently serving as the Eighth District Representative on the State Central Committee for the Libertarian Party.

When asked about his appointment, Mr. Sollman said, “I am extremely honored and grateful for this opportunity and for the trust that the town is putting me.” When asked about being the first Libertarian office holder in Vanderburgh County, he humbly said “I’m just looking forward to doing whatever I can to be a good steward of the town, earn their trust, and represent the residents of Darmstadt to the best of my ability.”

The Libertarian Party is the third largest political party in Indiana. For more information on the Libertarian Party of Indiana, visit our website at lpin.org or follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/LibertarianPartyIN.

  1. The times are changing, thank God.
The inherent divisiveness and corruption of our recent, unconstitutional and self-appointed “Two Party System” puppet show has to stop.
I’m glad more people are starting to see that.
