IS IT TRUE the Political Committee to re-elect County Commissioner Marsha Abell filed a report with the Vanderburgh County Clerk office that revealed that the following groups and organizations listed below donated to the re-election committee of Marsha Abell?
IS IT TRUE the Vanderburgh County GOP Committee headed by Chairmen Wayne Parke donated $5,000 to Marsha Abell re-election committee?…that Marsha Abell Republican primary foe Bruce Ungethiem approached GOP Chairmen Wayne Parke for a similar political donation from the local party?…that Mr. Parke told him “NO”?
IS IT TRUE that Friends of Mayor Winnecke donated $1,000 to Commissioner Abell’s re-election campaign?
IS IT TRUE the law firm of Barnes and Thornburg, LLP from Indy who are allegedly doing legal work the proposed downtown hotel donated $5,000 towards Ms. Abell’s re-election bid?
IS IT TRUE last night Evansville City Councilman Weaver had a political re-election fund raising event? …Mayor Winnecke and his wife attended this event?
IS IT TRUE that the City County Observer’s article complement yesterday must have resonated well with lots of people because we set a single day traffic record?…on Tuesday March 4, 2014 the CCO had 7,181 unique visitors who read a total of 16,288 pageviews?…this is a daily record in both categories by 60%?…the bulk of these visits are from the tri-state and Google indicates they are being referred to us by Facebook?…unless something drastically changes there will be a new record today as there were already 15,000 pageviews and 8,500 unique visitors at the time this was written?…that is enough unique visitors to swing any election that has ever been held in Evansville, and that is just this mornings traffic?

INDIANAPOLIS – The House approved a bill Monday that would allow farmers to grow hemp – a non-hallucinogenic cousin of marijuana – if the federal government lifts restrictions on the crop.
Senate Bill 357 passed 93-4 and moves back to the Senate where it has already passed. The Senate can now accept the changes made by the House or send it to a conference committee for further consideration.
The bill’s sponsor, Rep. Ed Clere, R-New Albany, said hemp has more than 25,000 different uses. It’s used to make textiles, rope, medicines and other products.
But Clere said the hemp is not a plant that people can use to get high.
“This is not a marijuana bill,†Clere said. “That’s a discussion for another day. This is a discussion about agriculture.â€
Industrial hemp production is still not authorized by federal law. But the farm bill passed recently by Congress would allow universities and agriculture departments to research it in states where lawmakers have legalized it. The goal would be that commercial production could follow later.
Hemp can be harvested just 120 days after planting and it doesn’t require any particular climate to grow. It is a hardy plant and naturally resistant to pests, eliminating the need for pesticides and herbicides, supporters say.
Southern Indiana produced industrial hemp rope as part of the war effort during World War II when the United States encouraged all farmers to grow hemp. However, the Controlled Substances Act of 1970 lumped industrial hemp with marijuana and outlawed production of either, despite their differences.
A panel of special masters found that the Judicial Qualifications Commission proved more than 80 rule violations by Brown on 46 of 47 charges. She was accused of wrongful detention of at least nine criminal defendants, failing to properly oversee her court, improperly supervising trials, failing to act on Indiana Court of Appeals orders, showing hostility toward parties who came before her, and retaliating against court staff who complained.
Justice Robert Rucker concurred in part, agreeing that Brown should be removed, but not immediately.
St. Mary’s Rehabilitation will offer FREE balance screenings Wednesday, April 9th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Washington Square Mall, in the rear St. Mary’s entrance.
Among the older population, falls are the leading cause of trauma admissions and injuries. A decreased sense of balance is a common risk factor for falling. The balance screening focuses on assessing balance and identifying factors that may decrease balance and potentially lead to falls. Participants will also have the opportunity to review their medication list with a St. Mary’s pharmacist.
The event is free and open to the public, but an appointment time is requested. Participants are encouraged to reserve a spot by March 31st. Please call 812-485-5209 to schedule a screening time.
The University of Evansville Physical Therapy Department, University of Southern Indiana Occupational Therapy Department, St. Mary’s Durable Medical Equipment, the YMCA, St. Mary’s Wellness Center, and others will also have information on balance and other health topics available at the event.
IS IT TRUE the following records were discovered and made available to the City County Observer regarding the approval of a loan not to exceed $5 Million for the purpose of extending a loan to Earthcare Energy LLC?…if the date of this official record (December 31, 2011) is correct it would be the last day that Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel’s serve as Mayor?  …if this information is correct it would make it likely that the Earthcare deal could have originated during the last days of  Weinzapfel Administration?  …if the above information is correct it may be time for the people of Evansville to demand full disclosure on how this deal was introduced to Evansville?…it  may be time to launch an official investigation to determine who  was involved in this transaction and what local officials helped this deal to be approved? …if this  investigation leads to people being prosecuted so be it? …this is a cut and paste from the official SBOA records?
THE EVANSVILLE LOCAL PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT BOND BANK
NOTES TO FINANCIAL STATEMENTS – CASH BASIS
December 31, 2011
In March 2012, the Bond Bank agreed to purchase a Revenue Bond issued by the City of Evansville for the purpose of making a loan to Earthcare Energy, LLC. The Revenue Bond helps finance economic development facilities situated within the corporate limits of the City and pay costs of issuance for an amount not to exceed $5,000,000. Principal and interest are due the first day of the month immediately following the second anniversary date of delivery of the Bonds. The interest rate will not exceed 1.5 percent per annum.
IS IT TRUE since there is easy money to be had that isn’t even from local taxpayers according to Evansville City Attorney Ted Ziemer and GAGE President Debbie Dewey since it happens to be sourced from the federal money, the management of the City County Observer would like to get our hands on some of this money to pursue a most certainly failing business model?…that failing business model would be to start a local newspaper that is actually printed rather than published online?…the United States has seen a number of major metropolitan dailies shuttered or drastically pruned including The Rocky Mountain News, closed in February, and The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, reduced to a bare-bones internet operation?… The San Francisco Chronicle narrowly averted closure when employees made steep concessions?… In Detroit, both newspapers, The Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News, slashed home delivery to three days a week, while prodding readers to visit the newspapers’ internet sites on other days. In Tucson, Arizona, the state’s oldest newspaper, the Tucson Citizen, said it would cease publishing?…that the reality of the world today is that print media is about as bad of a business model that is possible?
IS IT TRUE for these reasons the City County Observer would like to request a $500,000 loan with the same terms that Evansville gave Earthcare Energy to start a print newspaper?…by doing so the monopoly enjoyed for many years by the Courier and Press will be broken and some jobs will be created?…we just have a few conditions on which we will accept such a loan?…we will offer no personal guarantees of payback, will not submit a business plan, and have no intention of providing any personal financial statements or allowing a credit check?…our other condition is that if and we must say if there is any VETTING to be done of our operations that Evansville City Council members Stephanie Riley and John Friend are not to be allowed within five miles of our books?…we do however welcome the Evansville Redevelopment Commission and the Loan Administration Board to VET all they want?…we even invite Mayor Winnecke and his Staff to verify that we really exist because if we fail to incorporate we are certain they will not catch us?
IS IT TRUE in all seriousness that was satire but we do hope the City Council has the votes needed to pass a VETO PROOF rescinding of the Earthcare Loan agreement?…that will take 6 votes to make happen?…we also hope they have the follow through to do what they said and put a dagger in this unmitigated disaster that is sure to be fodder for jokes in Evansville for the next century?
