ST. VINCENT GIVING TUESDAY

0
This #GivingTuesday, we ask that you please consider helping
St. Vincent Evansville Foundation reach our goal of purchasing a new Mobile Mammography Coach. This breast screening clinic on wheels will serve those most in need in our Tri-State area through the early screening and detection of breast cancer.
Without question, it has been proven that identifying breast cancer in its earliest stages is vital to saving lives. Unfortunately, we know that many of the working poor in our community do not take time for their own health. Our mobile coach will offer mammography screening services in locations that are convenient for these individuals throughout the Tri-State regardless of their ability to pay. The coach will travel to places such as community centers, churches and schools making early detection possible for individuals who may otherwise not receive it. Once complete, patients on our mobile coach can expect to find the same state-of-the-art services and customer service they would find in our Breast Center.
Take a moment to watch this short video, then please consider a gift to help us with our Mission.
When making your gift, please choose “Restricted” under Gift Description, then Mobile Mammography. Or, if you prefer to speak with someone, please call our Foundation office at 812-485-4265.

Applications Now Open for Summer Health Science Institute

0

Medicine is one of the fastest growing and most in-demand careers today. This summer, high school students from across the Tri-State area have the opportunity to participate in the 29th annual Health Science Institute (HSI), a rigorous two-week program for students interested in exploring healthcare careers sponsored by the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and Deaconess.

HSI allows current sophomores and juniors to experience first hand the wonders of medicine and will give them insight into a variety of medical careers. During the two weeks, students will be housed on Deaconess’ campus and will interact with more than 100 health professionals, participate in 12 clinical rotations (including surgery and trauma) and explore Deaconess facilities and local universities.

Students interested in applying must be a current sophomore or junior in a Southwestern Indiana high school or home school in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, or Warrick counties and have at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applications are due by 4 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019.

Correction on November 21st shooting arrest information

0

In the previous release about the November 21st shooting investigation, Kyavion Brown was listed as the shooter. That is incorrect. Terry Adams is believed to be the person who shot the victim.
However, Brown and Adams both face Attempted Murder and Armed Robbery Charges.
