OLD NATIONAL EVENTS PLAZA RECEIVES FIRST PRESTIGIOUS STELLA AWARD DURING 20THANNIVERSARY YEAR

Evansville, IN – Old National Events Plaza received its first Stella Award on December 2, 2020, at the Stella Awards Showcase, an annual celebration honoring excellence in the meetings industry. Selected as one of the Best Convention Centers in the Standalone Facility, Midwest category, Old National Events Plaza is celebrating the nod as it wraps a 20th anniversary year.

“Like others in the hospitality industry, 2020 has brought an unexpected set of challenges for Old National Events Plaza. Placing Bronze for best standalone convention center, especially positioned amongst some of the newest and largest centers in the region, is a great way to close out the year. We are thrilled to highlight our community and venue through the awards, and this year our team feels most accomplished in supporting Evansville throughout the pandemic. The Stella Awards program opted to host a virtual showcase this year. The awards recognize distinguished hotels and suppliers from around the globe that consistently deliver quality service and innovation to meeting and event professionals.

Nominees, finalists and winners include the very best hotels, convention and conference centers, convention and visitor bureaus, destination marketing organizations, destination management companies, airlines and cruise lines. Finalists in each category were determined by public vote, as well as votes from industry professionals. Winners were selected by an expert panel of judges overseen by the editors of Northstar Meetings Group’s leading publications, Meetings & Conventions and Successful Meetings.
