IS IT TRUE JULY 1, 2016

IS IT TRUE that we found two ads in the Wednesday, June 29, 2016 Courier’s “legal notices” that have us wondering about the true financial status of certain local entities located in Evansville?  …that two properties scheduled to be sold by the Sheriff at a sale on July 28, 2016 in room 310 of the Civic Center in foreclosure sales have public entities listed as defendants?  …that there may be a perfectly logical explanation for the foreclosures, but we believe the public deserves to hear it from the local entities involved?

IS IT TRUE that 400-564 Jeanette Benton Dr is listed with an outstanding debt of $1.9 million dollars?  …that the plaintiff is Bayview Loan Servicing, and the defendants include Lincoln Estates Redevelopment Partnership, LLC and Old National Bank, Washington Court Redevelopment Corporation, and the Housing Authority of Evansville?

IS IT TRUE that the other foreclosure of interest is filed on nine parcels of property at 420 NW 5th St. by Whitacre Funding LLC, a Delaware LLC and the defendant is ERC I, LLC in the amount of $3.2 million dollars? …that the pictures displayed on the County Assessor’s website of that address appear to be Berry Plastics, and it is reasonable to believe that ERC is Evansville Redevelopment Commission?

IS IT TRUE we are hearing  that  “Drastic Changes”  in city employees health insurance are being considered in the 2017 budget?

IS IT TRUE we wonder when members of City Council ask city department head questions why in the world does the City Attorney  send them back written answers to their questions?

IS IT TRUE that Monday’s City Council meeting was another series of 9-0 votes? …we wonder how all of this consensus is met?  … we believe some well-reasoned dissent is healthy for a free society?

IS IT TRUE that at the same City Council meeting City controller Russ Lloyd declared that we are borrowing 12.5 million dollar based on “hope” that Riverboat revue will rise when the casino comes on land? …that we doubt that a bank would lend that kind of money based on the “hope” of an increased of future income?

IS IT TRUE that yesterday out going State Representative Gail Riecken held a political Fundraising Reception for Ryan Hatfield in Indy? …this event was held at the Indiana City Brewing facility in Indy and was well attended by “political insiders” and ‘“special interest” groups?

IS IT TRUE we would like to congratulate Joe Wallace for being appointed  Chief Executive Officer of the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership on July 1?  … Mr. Wallace served as “interim” CEO for 18 months for the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership?  …it looks like Evansville/Vanderburgh County lost another outstanding business executive to another State?

IS IT TRUE City-County Observer is proud to promote all veteran-owned businesses?  … we are pleased to announce that Autumn Barn Farms Popcorn will be awarding popcorn tins each month to lucky winners chosen randomly from those whose birthdays appear on our site for each month?  … we encourage you to send in names and birthdays dates of your friends and family members to us, so they can have a chance to win?  …the following Birthday winners for June will receive a half gallon tin valued at $10, that can be refilled for $7?  …popcorn tins winners for the month of June are: Bob DeGraffenreid, Salome LaMarch, Steven Pirnat, Evelyn Maveety, Marcia Bivins, Tiffany Nunn Stepto, Robert Money, Nathan Bayne, China Phelps, Stan Levco, Jamie Fuchs, Joe Templeton, Breck Bitter, Chris Lantaff, and Melanie Bozsa

  1. I know that all lien holders against a property are listed as defendants in foreclosures, so in the Housing Authority case, it could be a sign that the agency partnered with a questionable private contractor. That reflects on the agency negatively, but not as much as if the agency itself is not meeting payments. I have heard that much of Lincoln Estates is vacant, which lends credence to the idea that there is a real foreclosure in progress. In a city with the number of homeless families that Evansville has, whatever the reason, vacancies in public housing is unacceptable. The very best explanation is that EHA picked undesirable partners in a venture.

The other sale, with just one defendant does reflect badly on that defendant. This is interesting.

  2. Donnie Trump’s latest case of mouth diarrhea found him distracted by a plane overhead during a speech said it was a Mexican plane ready to attack. This guy is an absolute buffoon and our nation should be embarrassed that about half the country are complete and utter morons. No wonder the Republicans are trying to kill education.

    • In his defense I’d point out that he claims to be vetting our governor for Veep. If he gets Pence out of Indiana the state could begin to heal from his overt bigotry and stupidity. In reality though I’ve got to think Pence is just a convenient reprobate that people like to float as a possibility for president or whatever to assuage their base. News people like to perpetuate the ridiculous notion of Pence in high national office for their own reasons. With Trump it is believable though.

We could be treated to Fatso Christie sitting on him, full girth, and causing those beady little eyes to pop out. No one survives a full girth sit-on by Christie.

      • …Pence is such a fool to get in bed with the out of touch extreme religious right.
He’s been manipulated, and he made that bed for himself.

        • He didn’t get “in bed” with the extreme religious right. He is a genuine charter member. Look at his extremist RFRA and abortion stands. His RFRA stance cost the state dearly, and if he pursues the unconstitutional law he signed having to do with abortion rights, it will happen again.

          • You’re right. Pence is placing “an undue burden” upon the citizens of the State.
            (smile)

  3. In today’s Evansville Courier&Press (7-1-16) on page 10B we find an article “GE Capital can drop ‘too big to fail’ label.

I would bet that most people do not know that our government maintains a list of corporations deemed “systematically important financial institutions”. Digging a little deeper I found this:

    http://dspace.unive.it/bitstream/handle/10579/6015/845021-1180930.pdf?sequence=2

Evidently all the government committees and investigations created after the wheels came off the economy in 2007-2008 were only successful in cataloging the most likely corporations to cause another such catastrophe!

It sure would be nice if we could talk Donald Trump to put Brooksley Born in charge of the FED when he becomes President of the United States.

    • …..I think it might be “payback time Jack!!” Tune in to problems at the RNC Convention for Trump.

Ted Cruz is upset the Wikipedia page for Cruz’s Father will FOREVER and ETERNITY mention that Donald Trump accused him of killing President John F. Kennedy. That, more than anything else, Ted Cruz knows, will follow his Dad’s legacy forever.
Payback time!! Quietly. Off-screen. With a baby-faced operative. It’s coming!!

      • I was planning to spend some time with old friends who have retired to Eureka Springs, Arkansas that week, but we put it off until after both conventions. They understood about my politics “habit.”
Cruz is hopping mad about the allegation, but you do know that he isn’t a “natural born citizen”, so I don’t understand why he didn’t keep his Canadian citizenship and run against Justin Trudeau. On second thought, I think I DO know why he didn’t do that.
As for Big Dawg meeting with AG Lynch, I suspect he was checking her availability for a seat on SCOTUS. I would think Hillary is looking at the possibility of as many as four appointments. She will make more history, beyond being the first woman president. The Obamas will be the first married couple to serve on the Court, but AG Lynch would be a great choice if one of them decides they don’t want to serve.

  4. It’s all a plot to keep Barack Obama I power and institute sharia law, PAK. The FBI, Hillary, and Trump are complicit in it. Leave the country while you can. You can verify everything I’m telling you on InfoWars, Breitbart, and the Blaze.

  5. Now, back to the world of reality! It looks like the EHA may have gotten involved in a scam ala EarthCare. I have no idea what is going on with ERC, but I don’t see how this can be a good thing for the city. I guess the spin doctors are still spinning on this and haven’t found an excuse for it yet. There really needs to be an explanation of this, pronto! Did they think nobody ever reads the legal notices?

    • Well you can’t tell the players without a program: The EHA, Old National Bank, Givens & Spindler, Jerry Clark. That should be enough to keep you busy for a while, for someone who inhabits the “world of reality”.

    • ….I really don’t get all the hub-bub. It was just a few minutes to discuss Supreme Court appt’s in Hillary’s first term. And it appears Trump has some DOJ problems far worse than email tech issues. Bill just wanted to ask about that.
      BTW,
Can you feel the heat? The heat coming off of the RNC Convention train-wreck that’s gearing up?
This is gonna be good…..you’ll want to turn it off, but you won’t be able to.
      It’s like a train wreck.
You have to watch it even if what you’re watching makes you feel skin-crawling embarrassed.

    • the whole barry hussein administration is nothing more nothing less than national lampoons Animal House………..Lynch…….holder………….rice…………and to put the cherry on the top of barry husseins administration incompetence dirty doormat harry clinton………………………TRUMP 2016………😇

  6. ERC I, LLC is a private company. Berry Plastics is not relevant.
An appeal of the foreclosure judgement has been filed with the Indiana Court of Appeals, as has a stay of the sale. This matter reflects an effort to steal the property in a financing fraud action by Whiteacre and affiliated parties.
