Indiana Diving Prepped for Big Ten Championships

The Indiana University men’s and women’s diving teams are set to compete in the 2021 Big Ten Championships. The three-day, diving-only competition will take place at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center in West Lafayette.

CAPOBIANCO, FOWLER DOMINATE B1G WEEKLY AWARDS

Redshirt junior Andrew Capobianco claimed the first two Big Ten Men’s Diver of the Week awards this season after sweeping both the 1M and 3M competitions in the opening two meets of the season. He finished the year undefeated (5-0) on the springboard.

 

Freshman Anne Fowler earned Big Ten Women’s Freshman of the Week to open the season and Women’s Diver of the Week in week two. She also completed her debut season in the Cream and Crimson with an unblemished record (5-0) on the springboard.

IU DIVING SUCCESS IN CONFERENCE MEET

On the men’s side, a total of 17 divers have combined to win 50 individual championships at the Big Ten level. IU men have claimed 42 titles on the springboard (24 at 1M, 18 at 3M) and eight on the platform. For the women, 10 divers have contributed 28 total individual championships. The women’s program has earned 15 springboard titles (eight at 1M, seven at 3M) and 13 on the platform.

 

Indiana divers have captured Big Ten Diver of the Championship honors on 23 occasions, most recently with Jessica Parratto (2019) on the women’s side and James Connor (2019) on the men’s side.
