Volunteer USI to celebrate 2 million hours served, National Volunteer Week with week of activities

As part of recognizing National Volunteer Week, Volunteer USI will host a week of activities beginning Sunday, April 15 for the USI community and the public. The week will culminate with the recognition of 2 million total hours of volunteer service recorded by the Volunteer USI program. Read More

Heritage Artisans Days returns to Historic New Harmony April 18 through 20

Historic New Harmony’s 34th annual Heritage Artisans Days will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 18 through 20, in New Harmony, Indiana. The Tri-state tradition celebrates 19th-century arts, crafts and industry through demonstrations and activities. Groups of third and fourth graders from Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky will experience what life was like in the 1800’s through the eyes of a variety of period artisans. New Harmony welcomes an average of 3,000 visitors for Heritage Artisan Days each year. While the event aligns with grade-school curriculum, it is also open to the public each day. The afternoons provide a wonderful opportunity for families and homeschool classes to learn about some of Indiana’s first communities. Read More

USI Theatre to finish season with Into the Woods

The University of Southern Indiana Theatre will finish its 2017-2018 season with Into the Woods, based on the book by James Lapine. The production runs April 19-22 in the Performance Center on USI’s campus. Tickets are $2 for USI students, $12 for USI employees, $4 for non-USI students (student ID required), $13 seniors (60+), and $15 for adults. Shows start at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. for the Sunday matinee. Read More

48th Annual University of Southern Indiana Juried Student Art Show

The 48th Annual University of Southern Indiana Juried Student Art Show is on display through Sunday, April 29 in the Kenneth P. McCutchan Art Center/Palmina F. and Stephen S. Pace Galleries, located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Center on the USI campus. Over $9,000 in merit awards, scholarships and USI Art Collection purchase awards were awarded to students, and 178 art and design works were selected from 432 artworks entered. Read More

USI to hold Spring Commencement for Class of 2018 on April 27 and 28

The University of Southern Indiana will hold five Spring Commencement ceremonies over two days, April 27 and 28, in the Physical Activities Center (PAC) on the USI campus.The Graduate Ceremony for master and doctoral degree candidates from all of USI’s colleges will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 27. On Saturday, April 28, the undergraduate ceremony for the Romain College of Business will begin at 9 a.m.; the College of Liberal Arts at noon; Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at 3 p.m., and the College of Nursing and Health Professions at 6 p.m. Read More
