  1. Why would Denise Johnson, Russ Lloyd, and others, who are totally informed concerning the financial challenges of the Parks Dept, would sit idle and allow Winnecke to add the 66th parks facility to a now system that is absolutely taxed to the max. Now, comes the intelligence of the City Council, are they going to protect the interest of the City taxpayers, or simply light up a camel and sit on their asses?? So, let’s review the situation over the past 60 days….Winnecke rolled out the master plan for the CSO waste water solution, a mere $540 million (mindful that this is Federally Mandated), the WHITE ELAPHANT, namely the Hotel, costing $44 million, now, the “PARK” another $10 million, and, of course, $42 million, Johnson Controls….there’s seems to be no stopping “ObamaLite” The Council better stopping smoking the camels and get off their asses!!!!

    • These are all projects that former mayor Weinzapfel wants, and the last time i looked there was still an 8 to 1 democrat to republican majority on the city council.

After the latest pow wow at democrat headquarters the council votes seemed to convey that all the Indians had returned to the reservation.

Call it the Detroit syndrome, our leaders obviously view increasing municipal debt and decreasing municipal population as a good business model.

The only way to out vote them seems to be with your feet. Capital preservation is important, particularly to retiring boomers.
