Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden will hold its “Party for the Planetâ€, an annual Earth Day celebration sponsored by Vectren Corp., from 10AM – 3PM, Saturday, April 21.
The Zoo has collaborated with community organizations and conservation groups to inspire and educate all ages on how to be great citizens and caretakers of the planet. Visitors can explore the Zoo, participate in fun activities, learn about native plants, and see conservation in action. They can also participate in a text scavenger hunt with an environmentally friendly prize at the end.
Individuals can upcycle their recyclables into works of art and enter the Recycled Art Contest. Entries must be received at the Zoo between April 17-20 and will be displayed and judged by a panel during the Party for the Planet event. The winner for each of the four age categories will receive a Family Zoo Membership. The rules for the contest can be found online at meskerparkzoo.com.
This event is included in the price of Zoo admission and FREE for Zoo Members.
