What do sushi rolling, homebrewing, playing chess, and beekeeping have in common? You can learn to do all of them at a one-day event this weekend at Central Library. At Learn 100 Things at Your Library on Sunday, August 11th from 1-5 pm, learn about one hundred skills and hobbies from area businesses and individuals.

A list of the day’s “things” can be found at evpl.org/100things. The businesses and hobbyists participating are donating their time to offer a look at a wide variety of activities. Topics range from the traditional, like gardening and fitness, to the non-traditional, like raising backyard chickens and dabke dance. Kids will also have plenty to learn at Sunday’s event, like hula hooping, shoe tying, and kids’ DIY projects and tool safety.

“Libraries today are so much more than just books. They’re places for discovery and adventure, and places where people can come together to share knowledge and experiences. Learn 100 Things at Your Library is an opportunity for our community to do just that,” says Miranda Knight, Marketing & Community Relations Specialist for the EVPL.
