FIRST RESPONDERS TURN THIER BACKS ON MAYOR  AND HIS WIFE AT PARADE

We were just informed that a large group (around 100 people) of Evansville “First Responders” and members of their families turned their backs on Mayor Winnecke and his wife Carol McClintock in a peaceful protest during the Westside Nut Club Fall Festival parade this afternoon.

We are told the reason why members of Evansville Police and Fire departments and members of their families  turned their backs on the Mayor during the parade was because they feel that he turned his back on them concerning the proposed 2017 City Employee Healthcare program adjustments during the current budget hearings.

Members of the Police and Fire Departments also told us they aren’t going to allow Financial Chairman and 1st Ward Councilman Dan McGinn (R) and 2nd Ward Council President Missy Mosby (D) to stop them from speaking at this coming City Council meeting on Monday.

They predict that Mondays nights Council meeting will be jam packed disgruntled Police and Fire members and supporters demanding that City Council leadership allow them to speak their minds concerning the problems of the proposed 2017 City Employee Healthcare program adjustments

This is a developing story.

  1. ha ha ha. I can just see it now. The Police Sergeant of arms at the next City Council Meeting turns his back on the City Council and the Mayor and the Police and Firemen take over the meeting and are loud and very boisterous in their actions against the city council even considering raising their insurance costs and upping their copays.

The Mayor and City Council need to remember who protects them at these meetings and at other times. You don’t go around biting the hands that feed and protect you. Duh. That’s a no brainer.

I hope that they have a wide angle camera for this Mondays meeting and show all of this on TV for the rest of us to see and hear. Sounds like it will be a meeting to remember.

Oh wait the Mayor is going to throw some other people ( those that don’t pack guns) under the buss to appease the Policemen. Not sure how the Firemen will be played in this.

The police are the only thing between the people that the Mayor pisses off. He needs them and best remember who’s covering his butt.

  2. As always, money talks. Someone, somewhere will be paid very well to make this all go away. Corruption at its finest. The new normal has now spread all the way from federal politics to local politics.

  3. God bless these people that give up everything to put their lives on the line for us everyday and they don’t deserve to have anything taken away from them, especially what helps provide for their families while they are out protecting OURS!! Shame on you Mayor Winnecke!!

  4. If I remember correctly the FOP endorsed Winnecke in the last election. When you lay with dogs you get fleas.

    • Oh, right, bring up the FOP’s hypocrisy. You’re not playing fair when remember the past.

  5. I’ve got a feeling there are going to be some cops reassigned to the worst beats and shifts and a lot of firefighters riding on the back of engines this winter.
