  1. I have something very important to report. Yesterday I had a rose breasted grosbeak at one of my feeders. I usually have them in the early spring as they return to their northerly homes, so I was delighted to see one in mid-July. You would have to be a birder to understand my enthusiasm, as on a small level, it made my day.

      • I live at the edge of a large woods and I maintain a friendly wildlife habitat as much as possible. I’m blessed with an abundance of birds including at least 5 different woodpeckers, the biggest being a pair of pileated that I have only seen on a feeder once, although they will prowl around the bases at times. They are big and raucous, but the red-headed are far more fun to watch. When they’re on a feeder, the other birds wait their turn, even the mockingbirds.

  2. That’s fantastic! I have something to report too.
We have an annual Woodstock LSD taker’s reunion every July 15th at Burdette Park. Trading stories, catching up, trading pictures of our kids, and of course trading LSD hits too! Towards the end of the day just before we start trading our LSD tabs, who shows up? Pressanykey! He joins in, and Boarhead says, “That guy picks up tabs from me every Tuesday night. Says LSD is the only thing he can think of that will help him believe that the President’s own son’s actual emails admitting colluding with the Russian government is fake news.”

    • Mine were late in showing up this year, but they are here in abundance now. I moved my sugar water feeders to were they are never in the sun and clean them weekly, which seems to please them greatly. I think most important is to have lots of flowering plants at their disposal. I think they get drunk on my Hall’s Honeysuckle blooms, which I have in 3 locations. I found it in New Harmony years ago and as it’s non-invasive, made it a part of the landscape.
