IS IT TRUE March 16, 2015

IS IT TRUE that the Vanderburgh County Republican Party held their monthly breakfast on March 14th? …City Council at-large candidates Michelle Mercer and Jack Schriber were scheduled to speak? …attendees were also treated to a sermon by County Chairman Wayne Parke?

IS IT TRUE that Mr. Parke announced his support for democrat City Council members Johnathon Weaver and Missy Mosby? …Mr. Parke urged all of the Republican Precinct Committeemen to urge their “democrat friends” to support Weaver and Mosby? …the reason Mr. Parke urges support for Weaver and Mosby is that they were “friendly to the mayor”?

IS IT TRUE that 2014 proved to be a very good year for Republicans in local, statewide, and national elections? …Mr. Parke very publically threw his weight behind three Republican candidates? …those three candidates were: Incumbent County Commission Marsha Abell who lost the primary to Bruce Ungethiem 45%-55%, Incumbent County Councilman Pete Swaim who lost the primary to John Montrastelle 45%-55%, and Sheriff’s candidate Kirk Byram who lost to Dave Wedding by 18%.

IS IT TRUE that this is not the first time that Mr. Parke has attempted to subvert the will of the voters and has tried to influence a democrat primary? …Mr. Parke has publicly acknowledged that he voted in the Democrat primary in 2008? …in the 2008 primary election, Mr. Parke pulled a Democrat ballot and cast his vote for Hillary Clinton?

IS IT TRUE that we are looking forward to the 2015 city elections? …we are very interested to see if Mr. Parke’s endorsements of Democrat City Councilmen Johnathon Weaver and Missy Mosby will aid them in their re-election bids or if the Republican Chairman’s endorsement seals the election for their opponents, much as it did in 2014?

IS IT TRUE that this week best door to door political campaigner is At Large Democratic City Council candidate Alex Burton?  …we wonder if Mr. Burton ever sleeps?

  1. WOW. Mosby & Weaver pick another endorsement. This should be communicated to all democrats. It’s actually no secret. Why doesn’t Wayne just welcome them with open arms into his party and they can run in the party they are most comfortable with.

“Thank you Mayor Winnecke for giving me the opportunity to serve on the Mayor’s No-Meth Task Force! Great meeting this morning” from Missy Mosby 11-20-14

Thank you to Mayor Winnecke, Chief Bolin & Team, Steve Schaefer, Councilman Weaver, and some of our 2nd Ward NA Presidents – Chris Cooke, Tom Littlepage, Tim Bray & Jim Spaede (SP?) for teaming up with us this morning to talk about the rise in violence in our area! We are working on a plan and will update you soon! TEAMWORK! from Missy Mosby 7-25-14

AND THE LIST GOES ON. Best Councilman for the current administration.

    • Truthkeeper,
I assume you are not pleased that Mosby works with members of the opposite party and that she acknowledges it publicly. However, the two examples you use above are both very worthy of active support from ALL the city’s leadership; wouldn’t you agree? Working on the no-meth task force and raising the public’s awareness of violence. If we have to choose between politicians who work but do so with the opposing political party and politicians who work less but stay loyal to their party, I think the better decision is clear.

  2. The depth of degradation that Parke has brought upon the Local Republican Party is unprecedented!
I will urge my old friends in the Republican party to repudiate him on every level, and will lobby Committee persons I know personally,– to oust him,– and take back the Local Republican Party from this “bleep”!

    • Doesn’t Demo Chairman have power to request proceedings that Mosby and Weaver be banned from the Demo party? Didn’t 8 Dist. Chair start that process against Connie Robinson when the old Central Committee back stabbed Rick Davis and openly supported his Repub opponent?

      • even if faulkner had the cajones to “ban” an elected office holder there are specific infractions for which a democrat official can be censored or removed from party affiliation and neither of the two council members you mention have committed such infractions.

    • I’d speculate a guess, you’ve cleared the altitude required to clear them for good now, Crash . Your point is taken but was Understood before it was actually written . The old town is destroying itself from within , that’s not that large in its projection considering those that are regulated to pay the tax cost forward. Those people are screwed.

  3. Article in Courier & Parakeet this morning.

Supposedly, KC of DMD orders his finance people to look for money. They went out and “found” $ 500,000 of federal money which was the “leftovers” from prior projects which had long since been closed out. Get that money to Adrian Brooks group, for “housing” project. Trade nickels and dimes from the couch cushion for D votes this November, smart !

If this fact–a half million just laying around out there–doesn’t confirm the state of our financial accounting prowess (or lack thereof) at the Civic Center, I don’t know what will.

  4. It’s time for Weaver and Mosby to move on. They are an embarrassment to the city and themselves. At this point I would vote for anyone but them.

They are that couple in highschool that only supplied drama and the occasional laugh but nothing else.

    • An embarrassment? On the contrary they are the essence of quality of City Councilman. Embarrassment is the other clowns who will be replaced.

  5. IS IT TRUE – “Mr. Parke urged all of the Republican Precinct Committeemen to urge their “democrat friends” to support Weaver and Mosby? …the reason Mr. Parke urges support for Weaver and Mosby is that they were “friendly to the mayor”?”
~b~ Fine … let the mayor vote for them . I’m interested in representatives who are friendly to the Taxpayer.

IS IT TRUE – “Mr. Parke very publically threw his weight behind three Republican candidates?”
~b~ Mr Parke is toxic. Setting this aside: I don’t care who sits in City Hall as long as they truly represent
    the Public’s best interests.

IS IT TRUE – “IS IT TRUE that this week best door to door political campaigner is At Large Democratic City Council candidate Alex Burton? ”
~b~ Mr Burton is a fresh young face and I like him … but … he would be like a goldfish in a tank of piranhas
on the City Council. I wish him luck and good fortune . I’m not sure these will be found in Evansville Politics.

BTW: Yesterday’s BBQ ribs were bad. Threw them away.
Moral of story: Every batch of ribs one makes
    is not the best batch
    one has ever made.
    LOL! …

    • Bubba, Ribs were bad. No way, i didn’t know a person could make them bad. I could understand how if people try to make an exotic sauce. If it happens again you may be reported to the cooking police who will come and remove your cooker.

    • Alex Burton is interesting, but once again I find nothing about his views other than meaningless platitudes. That he interned for Weinzapfel is not a plus.

  6. “It is True” there are more Republicans holding office in SW Indiana today than there ever has been. Thanks to the good judgment of the voters.

    Wayne Parke
    Chairman Vanderburgh County Republican Party.

    • One, If he wants to find money he needs to learn from Ms. Clinton and her trading of cattle futures. She makes big time money in a short period.

  7. Both local parties have been hijacked by the machine. Both are devoid of the type of ethical leadership that could put together a slate of candidates that would actually improve this city for its residents. Not a single one of them would dare mention the word [cuts]. All they understand is [spending].

I am convinced the city will be forced to file for protection from creditors during the next administration, regardless of which party holds the office of mayor. Hell, they could be there now. How would they know when their financial officers go around making multi-million dollar plugs in the ledgers in order to “balance”?

This city needs a task force from the state to come in here and straighten this mess out. What is stopping it from happening is the results would do damage to the state’s image. As if Evansville filing for bankruptcy would not also do damage to the state?

    • Very strange … moveon. Even stranger … the report hasn’t appeared on CourierPress … yet.
Must be spinning it into a puff-piece for local Med Facilities.
“BULLET HOLES FILLED CHEAP – WITHOUT LEAVING DOWNTOWN!”
      LOL. …

      • No place for a medical school as it is, really who’d want to risk their health that way?

Mean while our group has developed a plan, its recently been approved in another very important region. Its the pathway that Evansville should be on. The goal fix and sustain the environmental footprint, the objectives leading to that, create sustainable skilled trades, and technically advanced job placements while the plan evolves forward, and is then sustained and evolves even further.

This is real work, requiring real skills, yet it is easily done when the employee firewalls are set to evolve with the plan. How that’s done is by final product presentation. Just where its proven to be needed, and afforded by the incoming commerce returns designed with the revenues as required . Easy, because its just pure Enterprise for those that implement the plan. Fix those combined sewers and for a fourth of todays projected cost when the recoverable revenues kick in.

Your town lacks the Initiative to actually think on the same plane of events that our global consortium does everyday . We feel the capacity for that is there , however held in place by the archaic policies and politics of the cronies feed line in your region.
Political lickers for the most part. Maybe someone could conceptualize a package store done there amongst the CSO and free fire zone in old downtown Evansville . I think I’d throw up a sign the reads like this——-> Political liquors. Maybe that’s what the cities CC legal rep is up to. Smart guy given that places applied solutions that just might work its created more jobs than the current elected dirge line.

        • Sorry to be the canary in the coal mine, but this is really worth paying some attention unless you are busy giving the Iranian Mullahs a nuclear enrichment program in the middle of oil filed deserts:

A significant portion of ISIS recruits come from the West and are driven by a “blood lust,” says Hall. Bannon asked him, “What drives the blood lust?” The author said that those who turn to ISIS are rebelling against western values. “One of the great dangers here,” asserts Hall, “ is that ISIS has a very active program of brainwashing to instill that bloodlust into future generations.”

In his book Hall points out that in the training camps children as young as ten are being trained to slit throats.

Breitbart’s executive chairman remarked that after he read the book, he got a distinct feeling that the mayhem created by ISIS will continue last for a long time.

“It kind of feels like the top of the first inning if you were to put it in baseball terms,” Bannon said. “Yet when I hear David Cameron, and I hear Barack Obama, John Kerry and the head of the CIA, I don’t get the same type of urgency from them about this problem, as I do when I hear Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Is there some kind of disconnect in the West? Are they hoping that this thing goes away?”

Hall said that there is indeed a disconnect. Leaders like al-Sisi and other leaders from Lebanon and the Kurds are crying out for help. “The idea that we can slowly strangle ISIS over a number of years and hope that they will go away is fundamentally flawed,” he argued. “The longer we wait, the more of the underline problems that created ISIS will continue to grow. As Americans and the West sit on the side lines, ISIS jihatists are embedding themselves, not just ideologically, but also militarily.”

    • It’s been proven again and again that ertain types of entertainment draws thugs. The solution is simple. The local ABC board should aggressively prosecute every possible violation and shut down venues that persist in offering the types of entertainment that draw thug crowds. Make it plain to club owners that thug crowds will quickly result in failed ventures.

  8. Meanwhile Barack and Michelle flew separate Presidential jets from DC to the same area in California, here’s how the Obama has tied the hands of our pilots to respond to the ongoing slaughter of ISIS:

“The level of centralized execution, bureaucracy and politics is appalling,” said “Chris.” “Pilots have no decision making authority in the cockpit. Unless a general can look at a video from an ISR sensor, we cannot get authority to engage. I’ve spent hours watching a screen in my cockpit as ISIS commits atrocities, but I cannot do anything. The fear of making a mistake is now the hallmark of American military leadership.”
