IS IT TRUE JULY 27, 2016

104

IS IT TRUE that our “INDY MOLES” were spot on when they told us that Lt. Governor Eric Holcomb would win the political caucus as the person to represent the Republican party for Governor?  … our “INDY MOLES” now tell us that there is a strong  movement a foot to convince State Auditor Suzanne Crouch to run for Lt. Governor?  …our “INDY MOLES” also tell us if she decides to run for this position it’s her for the asking?

IS IT TRUE if you were the Chairman of the Board of a multi million dollar Corporation would you consider hiring a member of the Evansville City Council to a top management position in your Corporation?  If so, who would you hire?

IS IT TRUE we wonder if you would hire Lloyd Winnecke, Steve Schaefer, Alan Mounts, Russ Lloyd Jr, or Kelly Coures to be the CEO of your multi mullion dollar Corporation?  Is so, who would you hire?

IS IT TRUE on April 21, 2016 a special fundraising event was held for four (4) current Vanderburgh County school board members at the Kennel Club of Evansville?  …a Brian Hancock of One Main Street P O Box 968,  Evansville put on the fundraiser event invitation “please make your checks out to: CHRIS KIEFER,  MIKE DUCKWORTH, RANCE OSSENBERRG, ANS ANDY GUARINO”? …Mr Hancock also stated on his invitation “your gift will secure this endeavor for future school board campaign of these respective candidates”?  …we wonder why Mr. Hancock didn’t invite the other members of the school board who are currently running for re-election?  …we wonder what business or organization is located at ONE MAIN STREET, Evansville  that sponsored this fundraiser?

IS IT TRUE City Controller Russ Lloyd, Jr recently stated that the city has many millions of dollars in the city  bank account as of June 30, 2016.?   … if  the City has that level of funds in our bank account why is it that City Council Finance Chairman Dan McGinn (acting as the surrogate for Mayor Winnecke) is asking for a reduction in the Homestead Tax Credit of nearly 25%?

IS IT TRUE according to a former member of City Council the changes in the City of Evansville operational funds over the last several years clearly point that we are currently experiencing a deficit spending spree around $800,000 to a $1 million dollar per month?  …if this information is correct we wonder why the only CPA on City Council Anne Hargis hasn’t contacted the State about this major cash flow problems? …if the City accounts are not in balanced we wonder why in the heck hasn’t City Council Finance Chairman Dan McGinn hasn’t asked  the SBOA do something about?

IS IT TRUE so far this year the City has transferred $12. 5 million dollars from the Riverboat Funds ?  …the Hospitalization  account was negative by $4 million dollars on June 30, 2015 and now is $7.5 million dollars in the red?

IS IT TRUE if the Vanderburgh County Council would had heeded the advice of former County Commissioner David Mosby that we should build a larger County jail County we wouldn’t be having the jail overcrowding issues facing us now?

FOOTNOTE: “IS IT TRUE” will be posted on this coming Friday?

Todays READERS POLL question is: Do you feel that the 22 member Committee will go along with Governor Pence replacement advice by selecting Lt. Governor Eric Holcomb?

      • It’s hard for someone to rectify all the mismanagement incurred in the last one hundred years from Democrat political corruption in the time Mr. Mounts has had. He’s doing an admiral job.

        • Not sure why these questions of hiring city officials is even being asked.
I would not have any of them, even if they paid me!

Still have not figured out how the city water/sewer department (and others)
are sticking the cost of the cities CSO problems to the water users?
The only time there are issues is “when it rains”, which is a “drainage issue”.
“All” city property owners should be paying, just as we do out here with “ditch
assessments”! It is the only fair way!

        • ‘He’s doing an admiral job.’

          Sure he is. Aye-aye sir.

‘All hands on deck, boil order! Boil order! The water will not be palatable around here for another 3 months. We’ll simply raise the price as well as the chlorine level, way up this time’. – Admiral Mounts.

‘Strike that last order except for the price raise, boy. We just won’t say anything about it this time. Nothing they can do about it’. – Admiral Mounts

‘Sir, another apparent Snickers Bar floating down from Pittsburgh, louisville must have missed it.’

‘No big deal. We’ll simply blame it on 100 years of Democrats, damn dopers must have the munchies. Hargis, knock another bead down on your abacus, we’re depending on you to keep an accurate count’. – Admiral Mounts

    • ..isn’t Anna a Certified Public Accountant? ..if so ..why hasn’t she voiced her concerns about Sir Winnecke’s run-away spending ..why has she not questioned the fact that as of June 30, 2016 the General Fund has 3.9 million compared to 855k the year earier ..but if she did her homework she would have discovered if the unauthorized transfer of 12.5 mil from the Riverboat into the General Fund would not have happened the Gen Fund would be 8.6 million in the RED and if Russ would have paid the medical bills (Hospitalization Fund negative by 7.5 mil) the General Fund would be another 7.5 mill in the RED totaling 16.1 million in the RED!!! Based on this fact alone she would the last person corporate America would ever consider!!!!

    • I predicted that Trump would take the lead this week, His lead will diminish next week, Btw, Trump is having a press conference right now. His heavy breathing is really annoying. He’s coming across as pretty insane.

      • For a long time I thought that constant thumb & forefinger touching move, as if to pass a joint, was just for emphasis. I now believe it to be congenital. Those effete little hands are always on the move. His very inclusive embrace of Ivanka at his fest the other night is another case in point.

        • Bandana, I thought his fingers were super glued that way. Moreover, has any one ever seen Trump take a drink of water while speaking? Check it out, he never does.

  1. I got a text to turn on the Trump press conference….so, I did, and it’s not good.
Presidential? Are you kidding me? Nervous, staccato responses, repeating everything…very insecure.
I’m not sure why Trump felt a need to have a press conference suddenly, but it is clear he is on the defensive about something. But what strikes the viewer most is……”It’s like he lost the Last Immunity Challenge.”
Reality TV Star……let me repeat……Trump is a Reality TV Star.

    • ……aaaahhh, I get it.
Trump keeps saying over and over “I have no investments in Russia.”
But the reports are not that Trump has investments in Russia,
but that Trump’s investment pools that he uses for his properties and his casinos are loaded with Russian investors. He is doing everything he can to change the subject….

    • A lot of times egomaniacs are entertaining at first. Then, as they become more familiar, they grow sickening. Then pathetic, even tragic.

    • ALL politicians are Reality TV Stars! Not a Trump fan, but I in no way can vote for a known criminal like Hillary Clinton. They have lived off of other peoples money their whole lives. I am willing to take my chances with Trump.

      • Many feel that way, they have nothing left to lose. Except maybe their shared tooth.

I didn’t know Hillary had ever been charged with a crime. Seems like she surely would have been by now if she was a criminal. Bill’s political opponents impeached him and he was the very powerful President of the United States. Got him disbarred for a while. If there’s anything actionable there, they pounce. I’d have to conclude that with all her time in the public eye, all the hatred she has engendered in the uninformed and the vast investigatory resources available to her enemies, all resulting in nothing but wasted millions and internet spite, she must not be a criminal.

Her opponents are left bleating Benghazi, emails, Whitewater and whatever else they’ve been told. Nothing there. Nothing at all. Just spite and outright lies from people who couldn’t carry her purse.

  2. Democrats always speak out of both sides of their mouth. It is always “do as I say, not as I do” with them:

    http://truthfeed.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/xdnc-wall-800×416.png.pagespeed.ic.c9VYPpOh7R.jpg

And only democrats would think that they could get any benefit, or boost, out of bring a morally bankrupt IMPEACHED former president to their convention. The democrats are also bankrupt, bankrupt of ideas to improve the country, as the last seven and a half years have proven. This will be the election that finally excises the Clinton cancer from the democrat party, and will afford the party a chance to rebuild.

    • Libertarian Gary Johnson is the only pro-business, low taxes, true conservative in the Presidential race.
He is polling between 10-15% nationally now.
Wonderful. Just wonderful…an actual conservative in the Election.

    • He was impeached, but not found guilty. Do you understand the difference? He won another term in the White House, so it wasn’t a big deal for most of the voters.

      • He was found GUILTY and IMPEACHED, but not removed from office by a partisan, party-line vote of the Senate, which had a majority of democrats at the time.

And from that point forward the democrat party has gone to hell. They sold their soul to save Bill Clinton, and the democrat party has been paying for it ever since.

        • You need to go back and study the way Government in the USA works. The GOP Controlled House doesn’t find guilt, that’s the US Senates Job and they didn’t find Bill Guilty of the charges the house brought to the US Senate Floor. So in my view the house looked bad by wasting everyone’s time on trumped up charges against Bill Clinton. Talk about partisan witch hunts.

      • He was impeached because of the perjury trap they set for him. He answered the infidelity question the same way just about anyone would. It was just political, no real crime there. They knew they didn’t have the votes in the senate to convict but put the country through it anyway. Made them wet to their knees. Apparently still does.

  3. What we learn from the democrats:

Gender is the most important factor in choosing a president. Not so much for choosing a restroom.

Diversity is the most important issue – except for diversity of opinion – that’s forbidden.

Kids all over America will no longer tell their teachers that the dog ate their homework. The new excuse will be the Russians stole it.

We must have gun control, because it works so well in Chicago.

  4. RE: The Democratic National Convention on TV on Tuesday. Is Clinton I still talking? I got so tired of waiting to hear him orate about how his relationships with Jennifer Flowers and Monica Lewinsky had improved his relationship with Hillary and how that made her get the job done that I turned the TV off and went to bed. I’m afraid to turn the TV on today as old Bill is probably still jabbering away. I guess once a silver tongue orator, always a silver tongue orator. Or was that Monica’s job?

  5. I fit the description of the opinion you are seeking in paragraph two so here goes. Elected officials are chosen by the people. People typically vote with their emotions or for who will benefit them personally the most. People seeking public office therefore hone their skills that make people become infatuated with them.

There is no place in a serious business that is based on strategic planning and execution for chameleons. For this reason, I would be hesitant to hire anyone who has made a life of being an elected official. Now if I were looking for a pitch person to hawk shiny objects, elected officials may be ideal.

Some political appointees have talent and could make it in the real world. It is rare, but there are some good ones who I would consider for executive positions. There are some elected officials who however charming are just not up to any task that involves critical thinking.

There are 3 council members and one staffer who have executive skills. Care to guess?

    • Hargis and Robinson have executive skills. Mercer claims to, too. Who is the other Councilor? I guess Russell Lloyd is the staffer you’re referring to.

  6. I will venture: DM, AH, and DA would be your picks. Having skills and using them effectively for the right purposes is a separate issue.

  7. Hargis double-talked during the election, but she didn’t have a competent opponent, so she didn’t get called out on it. She is a CPA, and talked about how she would keep the city’s books straight It’s time for her to make good on that promise, give up her CPA license, or resign from City Council in disgrace. She made a promise to b true to two opposing positions, the Mayor’s spending and the budget being balanced.
It is clear to anyone who can do basic addition and subtraction that the City is hip deep in red ink. We are losing between $600,000 and $1,000,000 a month. McGinn has said he doesn’t know anything about finance and he proved it with the way he botched running the Zoo. It is time for Anna Hargis to either live up to the ethics of her profession or face the consequences?

    • How can an ethics complaint be filed against her? Somebody out there surely knows how to do it?

      • The Civic Center grapevine has it that Mrs. Hargis is really not happy about being called on to keep her campaign promise. She seems to think she isn’t a City employee and is under no obligation to keep her word to the voters. She is an employee of the voters, and she needs to woman-up and do her job. Things are getting smelly in the Controller’s Office, I hear.

  8. Glad to see that non-agression pact between some of the local inner-city gangs that was agreed to after the Mann’s Bar shoot’em up is working so well. I guess the heat and humidity finally got to someone so they busted a cap in one of their opposing kind on S. Linwood this morning.
Ah, that code of silence, that omerta, once the exclusive realm of the Mafia, has filtered down to the local gansta’ wantabes. The shootee (I won’t call him a victim) refused to cooperate with the police and name the shooter, and now he can’t – he’s dead.
I predict the rest of the Summer is going to be long and hot. And no fun for the residents of tbe southside and Jimtown and tbe police.

    • You can always hope, PCD. It’s really touching to see your concern for the death of a young man. Oh, wait…you’re not sad about it. You seem to be hoping for more of the same.

      • One can not “cuddle” these thug wantabe’s. They “chose” to do what they are into.
They have no excuse to blame others for their actions. And yes, it applies to all people before
        you call me a racist!!!!!!

      • I’m a realist LKB, not a Soft-Hearted Susan. I really have no sympathy for these thugs who have chosen (yes, chosen, not forced) to embrace this way of life. Whether they choose to off one another is their decision. What I’m sad about is those who condone their actions and make excuses for them and for those who are innocent victims of their actions. Yes I’m sad, sad that no doubt many hard working people, adults and children, of the neighborhoods these thugs prey upon will be the victims of their theivery and drug dealing and shootings.

        • I’m not known for being particularly soft-hearted, but is just a human thing to feel sadness at the death of a young person. Of course, I am concerned for the people who are being victimized by gangs. I also know from experience that those are the people who will have to be the ones to take the frontlines in cleaning up their neighborhoods, and that is a really heavy lift.

    • Used to be “gansta’ wantabes” When people are shooting guns and killing it is very real.

      • Concur. There is an actual, for real gang problem in Evansville. Not as spectacular as the problem facing our major metropolitan areas, but a genuine problem nonetheless.

        • What do you think drives it? Is this a big enough dope market for people from bigger cities to set up in? Locals just trying to emulate what they read – make that hear – about and think it’s glamorous, macho or whatever? Hopelessness? I never really understood what would make a kid want to be in a gang. I always considered it cowardly.

  9. What is the threshold for slander by a candidate, before they can be taken to court?
Caught last half of Trumps news conference before noon. I felt that line was crossed several times
with name calling, and his degrading opinion of others actions.

There are a few ideas that he has are good, same goes for Hillary.
But it was embarrassing to watch, and thinking the world is looking at us, as if this
is all the better we can come up with for candidates?

    • I’m more concerned at the borderline treasonous plea Trump made to Russia to engage in a cyber-attack against the US. He’s now frantically trying to “walk it back.” I am supporting Hillary Clinton for one reason. She is NOT DONALD TRUMP.

      • LOL, I told you months ago you would vote for Hillary. They won. You have no choice but to obey.

BTW how do we know Trump had they Russians hack Hillary’s emails?

        • Nobody says he did it. You’re having trouble following this, apparently. The Russians hacked the DNC system. They released the emails at a time when it would do the most harm to Hillary, because they don’t want to deal with her. The CIA says all indications are that it was done by the Russians, so I’m guessing they did it. Btw, Don the Con. junior says that they have a lot of Russian investors. Cozy, huh?
Trump needs to decide whether or not he knows Putin. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-implies-putin-called-obama-the-n-word/ar-BBuXvMy?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartandhp
He seems to know a lot about someone he first said he knew from an appearance on 60 Minutes and now claims never to have met, doesn’t he?

          • No, I pretty well following this development as close as we can. Trump doesn’t have as much as Hillary has to explain. I would love to say it’s all over but the voting, but the Russians have shown us just how unethical and anti freedom democrats are when it comes to elections.

    • Trump likes to name call. Using terms like Lying Ted, Little Marco, low Energy Jeb, or even Crooked Hillary are all subjective, and all seem to reflect some semblance of reality. The same goes for calling Trump Little Fingers.

The one that crossed the line this morning was an article I read that flatly accused Trump of conspiring with the Russians against American interests. That crosses the line and is likely to be met with both slander and libel civil suits. Another unusual thing about a Trump candidacy is that he has significant business interests. If some politician makes a statement that causes Trumps businesses to lose value, they could seriously get sued for criminal liability.

      • …that is unusual spin Joe. And impugning.
Compliments on originality, but inviting Russian hacking of United States based email servers is literally an example of sabotage of American interests and out of bounds for Presidential candidates. Even former CIA Director Leon Panetta is formally on record as saying it confirms Trump is unfit for the Office.

        • I agree that Trump was out of line to encourage the Russians to hack Hillary. The reality is however that they already do that. Trump was just grandstanding. Telling Russia to hack the US and visa versa is like telling a fish to swim.

      • Trump may need a criminal lawyer to defend himself sooner rather than later. His threats to sue someone for slander will be pale to his treasonous acts against the USA. Donald Trump may be more concerned with his business interests than the people of the USA. And that’s a shame.

Jerry Brown called Donald Trump a Liar today. So maybe Donald will sue Jerry too? And someone else just told Donald that he’s not fit to polish John McCain’s boots.

Donald Trump is very dangerous as well as delusional.

  10. LET’S BE CLEAR:
Trump is weak on national defense. Will not support NATO.
You want a REAL conservative…Libertarian, Gary Johnson. Active military troops and true conservatives nationally realize Trump is a mistake, and more importantly, NOT a conservative.
    1. http://thehill.com/policy/defense/288546-poll-libertarian-johnson-beating-trump-clinton-among-active-duty-troops

    2. http://www.redstate.com/brandon_morse/2016/07/27/parties-lose-disaffected-voters-gary-johnson-wins/

Libertarian, Gary Johnson continues to build support nationally, and is at near 15% in the Polls….WHEN HE JOINS THE DEBATE STAGE WITH TRUMP AND CLINTON.

    Johnson, 2016!!

  11. I haven’t said much on here lately, because I don’t like Clinton or Trump. Today I made up my mind. Laura is right. I’m voting for Hillary because Trump went round the bend this morning.
Anna Hargis needs to do her duty for the voters. I figure she won’t and she’ll keep on getting elected anyway.

  12. Pence better watch out. He’s a contestant on an anti-reality show, if he doesn’t play the game, Trump may call him into the board room and say “You’re fired!”

  13. THERE IS A CONSERVATIVE ALTERNATIVE TO TRUMP…..

Conservative Libertarian Gary Johnson’s candidacy is growing and building, close now to 15% nationally which will put the pro-business, low-taxes, American-job creating conservative Johnson ON THE DEBATE STAGE with both Clinton and Trump….Trump is not a conservative…..and Johnson is filling the void:

    1. Libertarian Johnson for President leads both Clinton and Trump among US Military Troops:
    http://thehill.com/policy/defense/288546-poll-libertarian-johnson-beating-trump-clinton-among-active-duty-troops

    2. As Both Parties Lose Voters, Conservative Libertarian Gary Johnson for President Wins Them:
    http://thehill.com/policy/defense/288546-poll-libertarian-johnson-beating-trump-clinton-among-active-duty-troops

    • There is no such thing as a “conservative libertarian”. It is something concocted in that not so fertile mind of Wayne. And who would want to pull votes away from Trump, and for what reason? The only outcome of pulling votes away from Trump would be to get Hillary Clinton elected. But isin’t that what Wayne does, go around promoting democrats? Isin’t that his track record?

      • (……I know you come from the “school of thought that says it’s ok to make crap up”……but that school is full of idiots. We know that. Of course libertarians are conservative. But YOU think TRUMP is a conservative, so listening to YOU on this subject, is like listening to a fool PAK.)

    • No, the conservative alternative who is most likely to win is Trump. Johnson is conservative on some issues and not likely to win at all.

    • So……United States CIA Directors…..are wrong, according to YOU, Press.
Give me an f’n break. ANY PRICE…..even asking the Russia to spy on the US…is ok w/ you PAK.
Well, you’ve lost it. But we know who we are talking to at least.

      • He is a Clinton crony. He is now, and he always has been. He is gone as soon as Trump takes the oath.

      • BTW, are you so stupid that you do not realize that Russia, and a host of other bad actors, spy on us all the time. THAT is why it is important to observe this country’s statutes where the handling of sensitive information is concerned. Hillary has demonstrated that she can not be trusted with the country’s secrets. She has disqualified herself from serving as president, Trump did not do it to her.

        • ….Oh, you forgot an important point Pressanykey. It is substantial.
Candidates for the Presidency of the United States do not INVITE those bad actors to spy in the US. THAT is the issue…..and it is clear you are trying to divert the issue. Trump INVITED a foreign power to spy in the United States.
Disqualifying. The Director of the CIA is correct.

          • They do not HAVE to invite them dumb ass, it is ASSUMED they are spying. God, I would hate to have you in Podesta’s job.

  15. It is universally held, across the free world for God’s sake….that Russia violated international law, and SANCTIONED over Russia’s military invasion of the Ukraine and Russia’s theft of the Crimea from Ukraine.

But Trump today IN HIS PRESS CONFERENCE….when asked if the US’ objection to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to seize the entire Crimean Peninsula……if that should be withdrawn? Trump’s answer was non-committal: “Well, we’re gonna look into that.”

What? So…..how you defend that PAK and Indiana Enoch…..I don’t know.

    • …..LOOK…Press & I-E……you two guys are voting for Trump. Get that. You’ve sold your soul to do it.
I know I’m not changing your mind….your resentment over losing the cultural war, I’m happy about that.
But we are just making sure how obvious it is you have lost your values, lost your principles and are backing a dangerous fool like Trump…..so you can save face. That’s all.

      • Does it come as a surprise to you that there are pro Russian areas of Ukraine? If so, then you are not very knowledgeable on the subject. Trump was correct in using caution, as the issue is not one as black and white as you suggest.

        • …..well now, you made that clear. (And I am well versed on the subject.) Russia invaded Ukraine, and that is acceptable to you. Not black and white my ass. The depths to which you have fallen…..are unbelievable. You’ll even become pro-Russian if it means Trump gets elected PAK.

      • DB, your the one voting on emotions and resentment. I wish your mind could be changed, but you’re not using it right now or you would think about the consequences of your choice.

  16. If that bloated tangerine would encourage our enemies (perhaps his friends) to hack his opponent’s accounts wonder what he’d do to domestic enemies that displeased him in the unlikely event he becomes president? He has earned the title ‘National Emergency’ now. He is very dangerous.

Mini Führer Drumpf’s earlier appeal to our ample supply of ignorant bigots was understandable and they flocked to him. Many of them have since peeled off. His desperation now puts our country at risk. His brilliant statement that we might not come to the aid of some of our NATO allies who were threatened by Russia was alarming at the time, it is now clearer why he said it. He meant it. Not much right about the guy.

  17. On further examination, it does not sound to me like Trump called on anyone to hack anything. What he did was ask “the Russians” to return any of the 30,000 emails that Hillary had destroyed to the rightful owners, the American people. Hacking at this point would not find a damn thing. The FBI tried to retrieve the 30,000 emails and couldn’t do so. If there was any hacking done prior to the destruction of government property then let the hackers release the emails as Hillary should have.

    • …..inviting Russian involvement in a United States Presidential Campaign…..which is what Trump did…..is a never before seen, and an patriotically immoral and unacceptable act Joe. You’re providing cover for this type of behavior…I don’t believe what I am reading. This is far beyond the pale for Trump. I get it that he is different….so what….this is unacceptable and cannot be excused. This is about President of the United States.

  18. Trump’s outrageous pleas to the Russians to interfere in American politics by hacking his opponent’s emails renders him unfit to be anywhere near the Whitehouse. He is now a threat to our national security and should not receive the intelligence briefings normal candidates get between the conventions and the election.

Trump: “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” said Mr Trump, speaking at one of his golf resorts. “I think you’ll be rewarded mightily by our press.” ~~~ Maybe he thought they’d ‘find’ them at the lost & found, maybe he meant they’d be rewarded by him instead of ‘our press’. Most likely he meant the obvious: hack away.

It’s got his supporters, blinded by some ginned up hatred of the very accomplished Hillary Clinton, twisting and turning. Changing what they think they think by the hour. The email thing, the go-to last resort of the Hillary Haters, has been thoroughly investigated by the FBI. No chargeable offense was found and that is as it should be.

Watching the Trumpeteers show their true colors is a wonderful thing to behold. He must be a difficult man to defend. He is crazy.
