IS IT TRUE we are glad that IceMen owner Ron Geary “FINGER GATE” issue is finally over with? …we predict that IceMen owner Ron Geary will be publicly commenting (in the near future) on how and why the IceMen were forced out of Evansville by the Mayor Winnecke, VenuWorks management and others? …we also predict  if Mr. Geary decides to do this he will present documented facts that backs up his claim?  …we hope that our local corporate media will report on this if it happens?

IS IT TRUE we are hearing that many people in the Center City are upset that retiring State Representative Gail Riecken decided to take sides in the Democratic primary race foe State Representative?  …they don’t understand why she didn’t endorse anyone in the Missy Mosby and Steve Davis City Council race but did a complete turn around by openly supporting a candidate in the District 77 State Representative race?  …we hear that Mrs. Riecken  actions has motived  the people of the Center City to get out the vote for their favorite candidate?

IS IT TRUE that Ed Adams the Posey County Democrat party Chairman is doing can outstanding job in that position?  …we respectfully request that the Vanderburgh and Warrick County Democratic party Chairmen take a lesson on how Mr. Adams build unity within his party?

IS IT TRUE its alleged  that the hand picked County Commission candidate of Mayor Winnecke  was sued a number of times during the last several years for non payment of  personal  bills?  …Its now alleged that Mr. Schmitt has lost his job?  …we bet that his Republican primary opponent Cheryl Musgrave will soon find out if the above allegations against Mr Schmitt are true or not?

  1. In this country with our shameful piss poor for profit healthcare system where a hospital charges $400 for an aspirin, I have a hard time holding medical bills against the guy. I’m sure if he’s a Winnecke lackey there are other reasons to go after him.

    • No, she isn’t a “true patriot.” She believes she is, but she is just a vocal activist member of the right wing’s Victims of the Big Lie. Like most TPers, she has no idea of the complexity of the issues she believes she understands. I suspect you are also a member of that group.

      • Those Teabaggers get sort of full of themselves when they return from their maneuvers in the woods. They’ll call each other ‘patriot’ at the drop of a tri-corner hat, or even a twoie. It’s the next word on their hit list, they’ll soon have it meaning nothing at all.

  2. In today’s print edition of the Evansville Courier&Press (Wednesday April 6,2016) the article “New fund bothers county workers” by: Zach Evans, zach.evans@courierpress.com , the name Kiefer is not mentioned a single time. That whole sordid part of this Fund Transfer deal is edited, redacted, deleted, cut, striked, omitted, left out.

Mr. Zach Evans: If you are going to pursue a career as a reporter, reporting ALL THE ASPECTS of an issue is vital to the readers understanding. At some point in time you will have to determine if your allegiance is solely to your editor, or if you also have an allegiance to your readers to provide them with ALL of the facts you posses.

  3. “IS IT TRUE we hear that a back room political deal may have been cut between the Democratic and Republican power brokers to insure that Democratic County Commissioner candidate Ben Shoulders runs unopposed?”

Wow! The County is about to be gifted with a Commissioner of the quality of the City Council’s puppet trio, Mosby, Brinkmeyer, and Weaver.

      • “IS IT TRUE we are glad that IceMen owner Ron Geary “FINGER GATE” issue is finally over with? ”

In the grand scheme of things, I doubt that many people give a flying furry rat’s butt who anyone gives or gets the middle finger salute is. I do hope that Mr. Geary will shed light on the circumstances of the exit of the IceMen from the Ford Arena, especially if he has correspondence that exposes the facts of the matter.

        • Not sure how I managed to put this here, but it wasn’t meant as a reply to “Where’s Winnecke.”

      • No. We have Rob Faulkner who just keeps a low profile and waves the white flag every time Wayne Parke barks.

        • You can’t blame Faulkner for the treasonous back stabbing of Rick Davis by former Chairman Owen and Vice-Chair Williams and the other then Central Committe turncoats. That’s what ruined the local Democratic party and those involved bear all the blame.

    • At least we have confirmation of who the establishment candidate is in this race. Want more of the same? Me neither.

      • Cheryl Musgrave stepped on a few establishment toes when she was on the Evansville Redevelopment Commission, causing her to lose their support.

Therefor, I believe she might well be the only candidate running that has demonstrated an ability to think and act independently of the puppet masters.

More than any other race, this one clearly will determine if Evansville voters have had enough of the local establishment spoils system, or if they will choose more of the same.

    • Let’s,see – I guess that means the County A/E design projects will be awarded to VPS Architecture (the S stands for Shoulders – his brother) and City projects go to Hafer and Associates

  4. “IS IT TRUE we are glad that IceMen owner Ron Geary “FINGER GATE” issue is finally over with? ”

    • WINNECKE QUOTE:
“We need a distraction. Hey, can we get rid of Geary and bring in our own hockey team? Really? Yes, do it. It will drive them nuts. And we can get people’s eyeballs off this damn thing.”

  5. If any more Old National Bank employees get elected to office they might as well start holding council meetings at ONB building on Main and Riverside Drive.

I wonder how many local banks hold local government deposits, you know, which banks participate, and what percentage of the total deposits each bank hold? The same would also be instructive when it comes to the underwriting of local government.

    • Make that” “The same would also be instructive when it comes to the underwriting of local government debt.”

  6. Cheryl tries to be a tea party candidate but she’s too smarmy and seeks her own personal gain thru her connections she doesn’t keep a job long for whatever reason that’s why if you’re a conservative you should be for Brenda she’s been through hell in her life and knows how to manage money and stand up for our values. I voted for her this morning and am proud to say so

    • Are you aware of Cheryl”s background? She was not a child of privilege. I would agree that she can be a little distant at times, but dealing with this local establishment bunch is apt to make one so if you are the type who thinks for yourself. Musgrave could hit the ground running in that job, no down time. She also has the better resume, and she does not live in a huge home in the suburbs.

I’m trying to figure out, are you Kelly or Steve, because they are so jealous of Cheryl being successful that I can easily see a fake screen name being used.

However, whose of us in Evansville who know her know that she has DEDICATED her life to helping this community.

      What have YOU done

    • Dog
Please do not confuse Brenda’s capacity for volume and brashness with excellent qualifications for this job. Can say I have only dealt with her once and she did not have good if any follow-through or responsibility in the matter at hand.

  7. In terms of the Alex Schmitt issue regarding his “medical bills” and getting sued in Court, some thoughts

    1. As an attorney, he cannot find sufficient funds to pay his medical bills?
    2. Poor management of finances if the bill went all the way to Court
    3. Worked as lawyer at law firm, should have had insurance, so he should have owed only co-pay/deductible
    4. Even if all part of deductible, he should only owe a max of $3,000 or so, $4,500 at most
    5. Physicians pay at least 30% commission to collection agencies. He could not negotiate payment terms?
    6. OK, he defaulted on one medical bill, but five or six?
    7. Does he have health issues that require massive medical coverage?
    8. If #7 is true, will being covered under County insurance break the bank for Vanderburgh County?
    9. As the hand-picked candidate for Republican primary, he is unemployed and hounded by creditors.

So it appears he has money management skills that need to improve, and potentially job retention difficulties (and I only say that because we have no idea why he left the law firm).

But we are asked to select him to help oversee the multi-million dollar budget and finances of Vanderburgh County, trust that he can manage the operations and finance of Vanderburgh County, yet at the same time put aside that he apparently needs employment and health insurance.

    Am I missing anything?

    • ‘Am I missing anything?’

Just that we can know our mayor by the people he surrounds himself with. He can stay out of sight all he wants, and he does, but his candidates have to pop up every now and then. Alex Schmitt is no exception. It’s probably not too late, under rules approved by Prince Rebus, for him to run under ‘Bill Ducker’.

Cheryl is by far the better choice. Not even close.

      • Bandana

OK, my sense of humor is off today.

Can he run under party rules as “Nucking Futz”?

        (Sorry, could not resist)

        • I think he already is. The Nucking Futz sign has replaced his massive signage at Lincoln & Outer Lincoln. Looks better and is more descriptive than the other one.

  8. ***BREAKING NEWZ***

    OK, sorta…..

“Ron Geary’s now infamous obscene salute cost him money.

The ECHL hockey league announced Wednesday it fined the IceMen owner “an undisclosed amount” for extending his middle finger at a fan following the IceMen’s final home game in Evansville Saturday night”

    Awwwwwwwwwww

  9. Jumpingintoask is not a fake screen name? I’m just somebody who thinks Brenda would be a true American patriot in that job and you can defend Cheryl all you want I only know what I’ve seen of her the last few years and she seems creepy and underhanded I saw some news about her buying up land and she has been a job hopper that’s what I see. Brenda wouldn’t jump ship on the job she was elected to do. Bergwitz for commissioner all the way

  10. Ask them to release the “due diligence”.
Liars — county employee’s money for Kiefer’s son.

  11. Kiefer Jr. trying for additional government business using Kiefer Sr’s influence.
Politician’s turning blind eye. Look under the hood.

  12. And can somebody tell me about the union guy running for state senator? What he writes I agree with and I’d like to see a labor guy get ahead

  13. Since I voted a repub ballot he wasn’t on there so I didn’t vote that one I didn’t know either name on it
