That’s right – and if you’re not mad now, just read further.Governor Mike Pence just signed into law a license to discriminate in Indiana. Our state is now on a dangerous, regressive course – and the governor and Statehouse Republicans have made national headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Conventions and sports groups are now hesitant to bring their business to our state, and for a group of elected officials who like to say they’re for growing our economy – they went right ahead and ignored the calls of some of our state’s largest employers. What’s more, they’ve done it in the name of discrimination. It is now legal for business to refuse service to certain individuals in the place known for “Hoosier Hospitality”.

Make no mistake, SB 101 sends Indiana galloping backward when we should be moving forward and finding ways to raise wages and income, sending more children to Pre-K and staying away from issues that divide us.

The governor’s actions are embarrassing, disgraceful and heartbreaking for Indiana.

Help us fight the divisive, outdated social agenda championed by Governor Pence and the GOP!

Send a message to Governor Pence, Brian Bosma and all the Republicans in the Statehouse who don’t stand for anything but division and discrimination, and only stand with special interests.

Indiana Democrats stand for equality. We deserve better, and Indiana’s welcome mat should be out for everyone.

The best way to fight back is to make sure we have strong candidates and a strong message that shows Democrats are going to move Indiana forward.

Please do what you can to help today, and thank you for your dedication to the state we love.

    1. And we can boycott those businesses who discriminate. Our money can show our contempt for this law. I am ashamed to live in Indiana.

      • Our mayor didn’t speak out against this bill at all. He sends money to Pence. He supports Pence. But he parades around town with all the gays. He just wants their support, which he doesn’t deserve. Winnecke is shameful.

      • Considering you belong to a shrill minority, the moral and ethical majority will keep those businesses alive just fine.

        • No, ignorant bigots like you are actually in the minority now. You lost the culture wars. As your numbers fade, some extremists like you will have a hard time coming to grips with reality and either commit suicide or terroristic acts or lynch gays or minorities. These violent actions will seal the fate of religious bigotry as the last nail in the coffin for people on the fence is to see which side resorted to violence.

          • Liberals are losing big time, the tide has turned. It’s time that the liberal war against Christians came to a stop. The real bigots are liberals who preach diversity and move as far out of the city as possible. Liberals do what haters do, they hate, they hate all that is good and moral about and in this country. Liberals preach freedom from religion, well the table has turned and now we have freedom from you. Liberal are learning some hard facts, the fact is there’s consequences and now you’re getting you pushback. This whole thing with gays is stupid, a persons sexuality should be their own business unless they flaunt and advertise it and then it becomes everyone’s business. If you haven’t noticed the people on the fence have made a decision, they got off the and joined the right. The people of Indiana elected a majority of conservatives to set this state Right and that’s exactly what they’re doing. Pence has set the direction for Indiana by giving Hoosiers the freedom they deserve. This country was founded by people seeking religious freedom and liberals intend to take that freedom away.

            • You’re still thinking picking up some senate seats in deep red states in the lowest voter turnout since the 20s is a sign the country is turning into right wing bat shit crazies like you. Delusional.

        • You are spot on. A good example is that little chika fil a joint. since the liberals tried to boycott it their business has grown and thrived. Never went to the chicken place until the liberal pulled their little hater stunt, You want a great chicken sandwich, it’s the place to go.

    2. Will they refuse to serve adulterers too? Doubt it. Christian hypocrites like to pick and choose which parts of the bible they like.

      • Do you really think a Christian baker is going to bake a cake celebrating an adulterous relationship?

    3. Interesting since it is a state version of a federal law sponsored by Democrats and signed by Bill Clinton in 1992. I guess that they forgot to mention that.

    4. Interesting, this law is the state version of a federal law championed and sponsored by Democrats and signed by Bill Clinton in 1992. I’m sure that it was an accident that that was left out.

    5. “It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creeds into law if it acquires the political power to do so, and will follow it by suppressing opposition, subverting all education to seize early the minds of the young, and by killing, locking up, or driving underground all heretics.”

      – Heinlein

      • Every law is the expression of someone’s morals and will conflict with another person’s morals. If that was not true, the law would not be necessary..

    6. Unless you convince adulterers to tattoo a red “A” on their forehead how would one know Toadman?

The law will halt frivolous lawsuits while giving the courts the guidance to address each situation on its merits.

      • Huh? Divorce is public record. You get divorced in a small town, people know. My point was you Christian hypocrites don’t care about that, you just cherry pick homosexuals to hate.

        • Should a Christian be forced to bake a “congratulations on your divorce” cake or have their lives ruined?

While scripture discourages divorce, it does allow it. But Jesus defined marriage as one man and one woman from the time God established it.

        • The homosexuals weren’t in the limelight until they chose to file frivolous lawsuits as a means to advance their agenda.

    7. Yes, I am mad.

I am mad at the CCO for yet another high bias and low information article dumped on us from the far left.

I am mad that I have warned for years that the trend of same sex marriage would result the need of laws to protect people of faith from being forced to violate their religious convictions and participate in same sex weddings or be financially ruined.

I am mad at the lies and micharaterization of the scope and intention of this law. It does not allow wanton discrimination but says one person can not use the weight of government to force another person to part imitate in something that violates his religious convictions.

I am mad that corporations, sports associations, Gen-Con, and a Star Trek has been think they can bully our law makers.

I am mad that some Hoosier believe it is alright to allow other Hoosier to suffer harm because someone threatens our state with economic terrorism.

I am mad that some are acting as if we are the first state to enact this protection when 19 other states and the federal government have similar laws and every state is going to have to address the injustice of the right for a wedding cake trumping religious freedom.

I am mad at people who run blacklist and hope to see them sued.

I am glad that our Governor had more courage than Governor Brewer to stand against extremist, bullies, and liars to protect Hoosiers of faith.

      • Enoch. And I am REALLY mad at the absolutely ignorant anti-religious bigots who oppose this law and have absolutely, positively, NO understanding whatsoever of it’s contents.

      • Thanks Luther. That was useful information.

CCO, articles like this one is what we use to expect from the CCO. Instead we get biased feeds from the Democrat party along with fund raising links.

    8. It turns out now that Angie’s List little grandstanding act in opposition to this legislation was nothing but a PR stunt to try in desperation to right a sinking ship. Apparently a business model based on charging something for what people can get for free is tanking.
