Have you accrued fines on your Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library card that need to be paid off? November 17-December 14, you have the option of “paying†some of your overdue fines while helping to feed the hungry in our community.
During Food for Fines, your overdue fines will be reduced by $1 for each non-perishable food item you donate. The maximum amount waived is $10. Canned and boxed items will be accepted, and food donated will go to Tri-State Food Bank.
Fees for Interlibrary Loan, lost or damaged items, or collection balances are not eligible to be waived.
To have your account credited, bring items to the Check Out desk at any EVPL location.
In 2013, more than 9,900 food items were donated during the Food for Fines program.
