1. EXECUTIVE SESSION:

1. An executive session and a closed hearing will be held prior to the open session.

2. The executive session and hearing are closed as provided by:

1. I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(5): To receive information about and interview prospective employees.
2. I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(6)(A): With respect to any individual over whom the governing body has jurisdiction to receive information concerning the individual’s alleged misconduct.
3. I.C. 5-14-1.5-6.1(b)(9): To discuss a job performance evaluation of individual employees.  This subdivision does not apply to a discussion of the salary, compensation, or benefits of employees during a budget process.

1. 1. Sgt. Steve Kleeman reports on the seven officers in the field-training program.
   2. Sgt. Brian Talsma reports on the 13 officers in the Academy.

6. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION APPEAL:

1. 1. Officer Jarid Harris – appeal of 2017 performance evaluation received from Sgt. Kevin Day.  

7. DISCIPLINARY MATTERS:

1. 1. 18-PO-27 – Officer Marc McDowell, Badge Number 1242, 3-day suspension. No appeal filed.

8. PROMOTIONAL PROCESS:

1. 1. Certification of the 2018 Corporal Promotional List effective from June 10, 2018 to June 9, 2020.
   2. Certification of the 2018 Lieutenant Promotional List effective from September 11, 2018 to September 10, 2020.

9. MERIT AWARD RECOMMENDATION:

1. 1. Officer Jeff Worthington – for actions taken on August 21, 2018 with a medical emergency at the Mets Bus Terminal.

10. RETIREMENT:

1. 1. Sergeant James Vancleave, Badge Number 5119 retiring effective October 2, 2018, after serving 33 years, 3 months, and 6 days.

11. REMINDERS:  Regular meeting scheduled for September 10^th is cancelled. The next meeting is Monday, September 24, 2018 at 4:00pm in Room 307.
