Eagles Women’s Soccer Announce Ten Players Of Incoming Class

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The University of Southern Indiana women’s soccer team announced the signing of 10 players for the 2016 season.

Signing national letters for the 2016 season are goalkeeper Morgan Evans (Noblesville, Indiana); defenders Holly Schoenstein (Evansville, Indiana), Addie Deppe (St. Charles, Missouri), and Marie Auton (Ballwin, Missouri); midfielders Caroline Canoy (St. Peters, Missouri), Loryn Willis (Cynthiana, Indiana), Bridget Eckerle (Greenwood, Indiana); and forwards Courtney Spicer (Loveland, Ohio), Gabi Blosser (Ballwin, Missouri), and Abby Schoenstein (Evansville, Indiana).

“We are very excited about our 2016 recruiting class. We feel they will come in and contribute right away to the Women’s soccer program.”

Biographical Information On The Signees:

Evans: A senior at Noblesville High School (Noblesville, Indiana), lettering in soccer, track and cross country…competed at the club level for IPSC 98 Premier, 2012 President’s Cup Runner-Up, 2013 State Cup Champions.

H. Schoenstein: A senior from Mater Dei High School (Evansville, Indiana), lettering in soccer four times…two-time All-District, Indiana Soccer Coaches Association All-Academic, All-Conference, and 2015 second team All-State honoree…helped Mater Dei earn Indiana Runner-Ups in 2014 and 2015…2013 President’s Cup Finalist at the club level.

Deppe: A senior at St. Charles High School (St. Charles, Missouri), lettering 11 times in soccer, basketball, and volleyball…three-time All-Conference and All-District honoree, eleven-time Academic All-Conference honoree, 2014 team captain, 2014 All-Region.

Auton: A senior at Parkway South High School (Ballwin, Missouri), lettering in soccer…two-time team captain and Parkway South Best Defender Award…Competed for Sporting JB Marine at the club level, 2015 State Cup Semi-Finalist, 2012 and 2014 State Cup Champions.

Canoy: A senior at Fort Zumwalt East High School (St. Peters, Missouri), lettering in soccer…three-time All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honoree, two time Honorable Mention All-State and team captain, 2014 Team MVP and All-Region…helped Fort Zumwalt East to Conference Championships in 2014 and 2015…three-time National Premier League Champions and Missouri State Cup Champions at the club level.

Willis: A senior splitting her high school career between North Posey High School (Poseyville, Indiana) and North High School (Evansville, North)…two time All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, and All-City honoree, 2012 team and conference goal leader, elected to 2014 North vs. South All-Star Game, 2015 All-District, team captain, and NHS MVP…helped NHS earn the 2015 Sectional Championship…2013 President Cup and Regional Championships along with a third place finish at Nationals plus the 2014 Indiana Cup Championship at the club level.

Eckerle: A senior at Center Grove High School (Greenwood, Indiana), earning letters in soccer…named All-Conference in 2015…helped Center Grove earn Sectional Championships in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015; Regional Championships in 2013, 2014, 2015; and a Final Four appearance in 2013.

Spicer: A senior at Loveland High School (Loveland, Ohio)…lettered in basketball and soccer…two-time All-Conference honoree, 2013 Plank Award Winner, 2014 Loveland Offensive Player Award, named a captain in 2015 while earning the Loveland Tiger Award and Sports Person of the Season, 2015 All-City and All-Southwest Ohio…helped Loveland earn the 2012 District Runner-Up, 2013 Regional Semi-Finalists, 2013 and 2014 Conference Championships, and a 2015 Division 1 State Runner-Up…competed for Cincinnati Soccer Alliance at the Club Level.

Blosser: A senior at Marquette High School (Chesterfield, Missouri), earning letters in field hockey and soccer…All-Conference honoree as a junior in 2015….helped Marquette earn a District Championship in 2014…member of Sporting JB Marine at the club level.

A. Schoenstein: A senior at Mater Dei High School (Evansville, Indiana), lettering in soccer…two-time Academic All-Conference Team, 2014 All-City Academic team, All-District Team, and All-Conference honoree…helped Mater Dei to State Runner-Up Titles in 2014 and 2015…2013 President’s Cup Finalist and 2014 Hoosier Cup Champions at the club level.
