BREAKING NEWS: DMD DIRECTOR KELLY COURES FINDS $1.4 MILLION DOLLARS OF DORMANT FEDERAL FUNDS

BREAKING NEWS:  DMD DIRECTOR KELLY COURES FINDS $1.4 MILLION DOLLARS OF DORMANT FEDERAL FUNDS.
On Friday of last week DMD Director Kelly Coures ask Council President Missy Mosby to “suspend the rules” at last nights Council meeting because of an alleged time schedule deadline in spending these funds.  In order for City Council to “suspend the rules” they  had to vote 9-0 to do so.  This is why this issue wasn’t brought up for a vote at last nights City Council meeting.
On last Friday afternoon  At-Large City Councilmen Dr. Dan Adams objected to “suspend the rules” on voting on this issue at Monday evening Council meeting because he felt that he didn’t have enough information on what the $1.4 million dollars were going to be spent on.
At next City Council meeting we also can’t wait to see what “Pork Barrel” projects the Mayor and Coures decide to spend our hard earned tax dollars on.
This is a  developing story we shall update you on this story when we get additional information.

  1. Kelly is really good at finding unspent Federal money. I wish Russ would find some. I wonder how long we have to spend the latest “find” and what it will be wasted on.

  2. The contrast isn’t lost on most of us. Coures magically opens drawers and “finds” millions, and the controller can’t seem to keep track of the petty cash drawer. this administration vaulted Coures from community “personality” to financial wizard and doer of all good deeds. Meanwhile, the extremely qualified Jennie Collins has it all going on, with a big financial incentive for all her good work. Stay tuned to see where Coures will sprinkle this most recent cache of bonus bucks, which groups or persons the mayor chooses to gift. As the woman behind the throne is famously quoted as saying, “Money is like manure. It’s no good unless you spread it around.”

  3. Who wrote this column today?
It would help the reader if the Editor gave some detail on what the “federal funds” are. Highway funds? Uighru outreach? Farm subsidies? There’s no context to this at all.
I get it. There’s plenty of room for criticism with Coures and Council. But the “let’s get straight to the bitchin'” column w/out some detail/background makes the CCO look childish.

      Thanks for reading the CCO.
