Dan Colbert is Promoted to Lab Manager at Indiana State Police Regional Laboratory

Evansville – Indiana State Police Superintendent Douglas Carter has promoted Dan Colbert to serve as the Evansville Regional Laboratory Manager. Colbert’s predecessor, Joe Vetter, retired in June after serving as the laboratory manager since March 1980. Colbert has been the acting lab manager since Vetter’s retirement.

Colbert is a native of Owensville and a 1991 graduate of Gibson Southern High School. He later attended Oakland City University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.

Colbert joined the Indiana State Police in 1996 as a Criminal Analyst at the Evansville Regional Lab.  He was promoted to Forensic Scientist in 2006 to serve as a firearm and tool mark examiner. Colbert has also been a member of the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Team since 1999.

Colbert and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Gibson County with their two boys.
